Hi! I'm Val and here on 7 cups I try to create a safe space for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Talking about things can be helpful and I happen to have time to dedicate to a good cause. Some topics for which I'm comfortable providing support and those that I have a bit of experience with include depression, anxiety, addictions of all sorts, sexual abuse/assault, and more down below under "categories".

Book a chat with me to secure my full attention for an hour or send me a message even if I appear offline — I'll reply within 48 hours.

Some more random things about me: I'm a 29-year old researcher who is passionate about neuroscience and languages. I enjoy mindfulness, practice yoga, love nature, and animals and engaging in harm-free adventures. Oh yeah, and also, I think that nobody's perfect and it's alright.

...See more all blue text [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue] contains a hyperlink Hello Group Moderators team! The final month of the year has begun, a time of celebration and good wishes we send to one another. On that note, we have some helpful updates to share with you, with a focus on safety and clarity. We are reintroducing the updated Moderator Activity Log Form. All moderators should already have access to it, no additional links are required. If you are a Group Support moderator but don’t have access to the form, please message @CheeryMango, @EvelyneRose or @PuzichkinCat to receive access. (Please do not share the form with anyone, and do not post the link in public spaces) When to submit the Moderator Activity Log Form Even though our group support rooms are meant to be safe and supportive spaces for all, sometimes, as moderators, we may find ourselves in difficult or tense situations in rooms and need to share our side of the situation. This could mean showing we did the right thing as a moderator, or reporting the event to see what we could have done differently or whether the situation could have been handled better, or for any other potential outcomes or benefits from sharing your perspective of a situation you handled in a group room. Remember that as a team, we’re always growing and improving together. We encourage you to file the Moderator Activity Log form if you have used moderation tools and/or conflict resolution methods, to remain accountable for and transparent in your actions. Your responses to this form will be kept confidential and will only be used to your benefit and to better support you in your role as a moderator. If there are learning opportunities, more training and resources will be offered to those who request them. We’re in this together, and we’ve got your back! Please note, this form should NOT be used to report interpersonal conflicts with other users or as a replacement for behavioral reports. Remember to not include any irrelevant/revealing/sensitive or confidential information about other users, instead, please focus on the group support event you are describing and how you handled it. We encourage you to use this form especially: * To report the use of moderation tools or techniques * To tell your side of the story When to not use this form: * To report a conflict with another member or listener (instead, please submit a request here [https://help.7cups.com/hc/en-us/requests/new]) Please see Filing Behavioral Report Forms: All the information you might need [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdatesInformationFortheCommunity_100/HsHangout_1970/FilingBehavioralReportFormsAlltheinformationyoumightneed_242537/] Updates made * Changed the name of the form for clarity * Removed outdated information * Clarified the form in regards to the ethical principles of our community And more! ...See more all blue text [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue] contains a hyperlink Dear community, The Moderator Request Form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScRXkwrrPicWRzUvBPYq2wrblHE5HexqFmVA3k3B4QLEoNyHw/viewform] has been updated! The name of the form has been changed in accordance with the majority vote on the poll [https://www.7cups.com/forum/GroupSupport_168/GroupSupportInformationandUpdates_822/VotingPollselectanamefortheGroupSupportChatRoomEmergencyForm_261560/] we conducted earlier. Results: * 110 Responses Total * 60 votes for "Moderator Request Form" * 18 votes for "Group Support Emergency (keep the original name)" * 17 votes for "Mod Call Form" * 15 votes for "Other" Thank you everyone for voting and leaving helpful feedback! The form is located in Group Support Chatroom Rules, Rule #14 (see image below). It’s important for the safety of our community: it notifies volunteer moderators and community mods of a situation in a chatroom that requires their attention . We worked on making the form more concise and accessible and, hopefully, user-friendly, based on feedback we have received. Some changes that were made: * Decreased number of pages to click through * Clear reasons for submitting the form * Open space to describe “Other” reasons to submit the form And more! Let us know what you think! ------------------------- Frequently Asked Questions * The form is still difficult to find, will the Chatroom Rules be updated? * We will tackle this issue separately as soon as possible, however, we cannot change the Chatroom Rules right now. We will keep you updated on any changes that we make. 2. What is the estimated wait time for mod arrival after submitting the form? * About 5 minutes. Community Moderators and volunteer mods have notifications set up for new responses, please be patient and allow them some time to come into the room, understand the situation and how to handle it. If your submission hasn’t been answered in the specified time frame, please use this review form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScmfpQqScgcFxOSHveQfbP52m-XNu-DBC6oK7ieTHrGQ4hJ3w/viewform] to report it, noting the Community Moderator on shift. 3. How do I know which Community Moderator is on shift when I need them? * Please refer to the Community Moderator Shift Schedule [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SafetyKnowledgeat7Cups_181/CommunityModeratorWeeklySchedule_1640/CommunityModScheduleWeekofJan06_214569/]. 4. I’m a moderator, will I get access to the dashboard that collects responses for the new form? * The new form is linked to the original dashboard so you don’t need additional links or access. If you’re a moderator but have not received the Group Support Emergency+ Doorkeeper Dashboard, please reach out to @CheeryMango [http://7cups.com/@CheeryMango] (adults) and @EvelyneRose [http://7cups.com/@EvelyneRose] (teens) to get the link! 5. I’m a moderator/doorkeeper but I don’t have notifications set up. How do I do that? Open the “Moderator Request + Doorkeeper” Dashboard. Click “Tools” —> “Notification rules”. In the dialog box click “Add another notification rule” and select “A user submits a form” and “Email - right away”. For detailed instructions check this post [https://www.7cups.com/forum/GroupSupport_168/GroupSupportTeamCommunication_2139/DoorkeeperRequests_249064/]. Now you will receive emails for new submissions. You can then also enable notifications for new emails in your email provider settings. If you have any questions, message @Puzichkincat [http://7cups.com/@puzichkincat]. Useful Information * Community Guidelines [https://tinyurl.com/7CupsGuidelines] * Behavior Points System [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SafetyKnowledgeat7Cups_181/BehavioralRatingSystem_2108/2020s7CupsBehaviorReportingProcessTrackingUpdatedVersion_226446/1/] * Filing Behavioral Report Forms: All the information you might need [https://www.7cups.com/forum/SiteUpdatesInformationFortheCommunity_100/HsHangout_1970/FilingBehavioralReportFormsAlltheinformationyoumightneed_242537/] - See the Room Support Request Update [https://www.7cups.com/forum/GroupSupport_168/GroupSupportInformationandUpdates_822/IntroducingRoomSupportRequestForm_260738/] and Room Support Request Form [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScJMfFAs6M98zEqLEezqi-1J970GvjeeMQ7Jtj-1bfmFYPi8w/viewform]! Feedback & Reviews
PuzichkinCat is too amazing, thoughtful and caring for words. 7 Cups is lucky to have her. She's a phenomenal listener and person.
Val is truly an angel on earth, she is one of the sweetest listeners and mods you will ever meet, she was really understanding and helped me more than she could ever know, thank you for being you! You are a true genuine person who i will never forget, i will never forget how understanding and sweet you were towards me, you really do leave an amazing impact on people, you genuinely helped me so much and i dont think you even realised it. Keep doing you Queen!
Sweet, patient and kind. Cat asks helpful questions
Great information and patience
She actively listens, is down to earth, is incredibly patient, super kind, very resourceful, emphatetic, generous, funny, human. I have gotten to be in her corner for the past 10 months or so, and gosh she has taught me so much about boundaries/holding true to one's own values/conflict resolution/emotion sorting/privacy and protecting oneself online/etc. She is a mentor/a listener/a friend and in all honest a tulip isn't enough for all she has done for me and others here on 7 Cups of Tea. I owe her for teaching me how to be the best me for myself as well as others. I remember I was anxious as I was trying to do something/make a major decision in my life and she was there through it all. Her corner as been there for me to celebrate the wins in life may they be big or small, and to be safe while grieving losses and dealing with some difficult emotional baggage. Thank you for being my safe haven from life as well as within 7 Cups of Tea. 💙😊
She is the best person I met on this site. Her heart is only compassion and goodness.
I felt understood and validated. I was feeling upset about people pressuring me to feel positive and also to try harder. It's awful. Feel so much better now. Thanks.
