Emily Wyman, LCSW

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

It is so nice to see that you have taken the next steps in seeking additional support, as I can imagine the thoughts and feelings you may be experiencing are overwhelming at times.  In working with both individuals and families for over ten years, I believe that we can only change what we are able to acknowlege. You have identified that you could benefit from someone that is able to listen and provide you with guidance on making the best choices for you.  That is the approach that I take when providing therapy, as I believe you are the driver and I am here to help guide and support the process.  I work closely with all of my clients and begin where you feel comfortable.  I want to ensure that we are working towards your goals, as this is your time to talk about what may be troubling you.  I also like to work from a solution perspective because it is important for us to work towards achieving the goals that you identify during our first few sessions together.

This is the next step for you to begin to feel better and I look foward to beginning this next step with you.  I will challenge your thoughts at times, to provide you with perhaps a different way of vieiwng the issues that you are presenting.  We can build upon each of our sessions together and work on strategies that allow you to see positive changes.  Change is always possible, and it doesn't happen overnight.  I have a very understanding and patient nature, so I understand that this process is a journey, not a destination.  I commend you, as you already show how brave and strong you are in being here, and I truly look forward to working with you.
