=======================================================================================================================

Hi, guys! I'm FrenchMarbles! (But you can call me Jake ^_^)...now are you sitting comfortably while you read my long profile description?

Good! So, I've decided to completely do my profile up, and making it all nice and sparkly!  ^+^

So...get the kettle all nice and boiled, grab yourself a cup and feel free to have my special coffee! xD

Oh...just be aware that the coffee might be slightly hot! But we can wait for it to cool down.....now what to do while we are waiting? Let's get to know each other a bit better! xD

Let's begin by telling us a bit about yourself and how you found this website?

Well...hello! *waves* My name is FrenchMarbles here, but you can call me Jake ^_^, I'm from the United Kingdom.  I am disabled, in the sense that I am profoundly Deaf.  But I don't let that stop me from having the same quality of a life than any average guy. I found this website a couple of years ago when I was still going through a horrible time, I was discriminated just because I was Deaf, and I needed to talk to someone, so I basically typed something like "talk to someone" and this came up on my search, and it wasn't long before I fell in love with this website and I became a listener to help others out.

So...are you just a listener?

I am not just a listener! See, when I find something I am passionate about, I invest my time in it, and it really wasn't long before I discovered I could be more involved, so the following below is a little glimpse of what I do here;

 1. Listener

Being a listener is one of my first roles here, and it is one I still stick by despite my never ending list! I listen to a wide range of people going through many different situations, I really can never imagine what sort of day I'm going to have when I am talking to people! Sometimes it is quite difficult to try and refrain from helping as many people as I can, but self-care is so important so I keep myself as 'offline' as to focus on the people I'm listening to.  Click here to view our amazing listeners ^_^

2. Quality Mentoring

This is one of the projects I absolutely adore heart I help listeners build up their skills and ensure they feel supported when the times get difficult, I know what it is like to be brand new and wanting to help as many people as possible, but think of it this way, you could have the world's best jam, and people from all over the world come and taste this special jam. This jam is your compassion and empathy mixed together with a little bit of sugar. But if you keep giving away your jam to other people, you might not have enough to share with your friends + family.  Which is why you should try and connect with our awesome mentors, we'll help you fill up your jam jar, support you when times get too much, and even afterwards you might get yourself a little virtual cookie! Click here to pair up with our awesome mentors!

3. Intern

I'm also an intern here at 7 Cups! I did become an intern about 2 years ago, but I wasn't prepared for the amount of work that I needed to do to complete my internship at 7 Cups, so I left, and after an extended self-care break, I've become an intern again, which is something I am loving! It just means that I will be able to use the leadership skills amongst many other awesome skills I've gained to pursue a job in the future! (Obviously, if any of the admin team reads this, I'm really skint and would appreciate a job haha!)  To become an intern, follow this link ^_^

4. Anonymous Evaluation Team

I am part of the Anonymous Evaluation team, and what I do is super secret, so secret I need to type in a ridiculously small text size but if you can read this then I should probably stop because you'll end up finding out what I actually do D:

Do you recommend viewing any websites?

YES! The internet is full of wonderful places where you are able to learn more about yourself, as well as learning about the lovely little planet we live in! (For those who don't know, we're currently on Earth

Thank you for not turning me away. I have lost all hope that anyone would actually talk to me. Thank you for listening.
Truly amazing listener. You rock!
fantastic listener..really helped me a lot!!
One of my best friends on 7 Cups, an incredible listener and caring friend. Thank you so much Jake, I am so glad I have gotten to know you. I feel like I can really open up because I trust you, and I thank you for taking so much concern to what is going on while adding some humor :)
The best listener I've come across on here. He totally empathised with my situation and was more then helpful!! I'm so grateful!!! Thankyou!!!!
FrenchMarbles was so wonderful. He was very thoughtful and sweet. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you, 7cups!
He is a great listener. I was able to freely talk about what was on my mind and in a matter of minutes I gradually started to feel better. I was given some great advice that I'll be able to remember when I need it. Thanks again
Very helpful chat with FrenchMarbles, helped me finally start to talk about a very difficult event in my life. It helped to get some of it out to another human being. They offered me some good advice, and provided some comfort during a tough time. Thanks so much.
Jake is very understanding of people with various problems. He is compassionate, helping people feel cared for. He is also very kind, devoting so much into helping others, at which he is great. I am thankful to have met him.
Jake is such a professional listener, very empathetic and absolutely not rude at all, his language is very professional and I felt like someone was actually caring and relating to my issues, talking to him definitely made my night better. He also gave me the appropriate resources without providing advice. Thank you so much Jake, you're amazing
Jake here is very kind and helpful person. He has the most open mind I experience on 7cups. He's emphatic, sensitive. He knows when to ask a question and when to encourage his talking partner to continue and tell more. Conversation with him doesn't feel forced. He doesn't give stupid advice and respects one's limits. What a wonderful person to chat with!
Jake is such a beautiful person with a good heart. What an honor it is to call him my friend. I know that I can lean on him in hard times and that's something special, you know? You can't fake the kind of authenticity this beautiful person possesses. Everything he does, it's out of care. It's out of love and finesse. He's one of my favorite people in this entire world, despite the short amount of time I've known him. If anyone is questioning on whether or not to consider talking to him, please do. He's kindness and beauty personified. He's like the rainbow after the storm. I can't thank him enough.
Even thought it was late, I was happy to find someone who was able to listen to my problems and empathize with me. It is hard to find friends who will listen for an extended amount of time, so I was very happy to have someone who was willing to take long responses and give longer responses.

He chatted with me for almost an hour without hesitation and messaged me very quickly, i would recommended him to anyone!
It was so refreshing to be seen as a human being and not just my illness. He really helped me get unstuck from this awful sadness that was crippling me inside. I feel very grateful for his kindness.
Insightful and kind.
Great Listener! Helped me a lot, Thank you! - Aalok
Really good listener and supporter. He shared some of his personal experiences with me and helped me explain and uncover what I was feeling. I felt as if he really did care about me, wouldn't pass judgment, and was here to help!.

Great Guy
He's helped me so much not only in feeling better but also helping me realize the kind of trouble I am in. From the short time we've been talking, he's always been available and ready to listen and help. I can't thank him enough :)
This was ten first time, when a listener really cared about me!!! Just with his introduction, he gave me the feeling that I could trust him, I could tell him everything. I told him a part of my life, to make it easier, understanding my problems....and then he began asking me thing and showing me that he's interested in me. That gave me a very good feeling. And I'm glad that I found him. He took my hand and showed me a long stair into a better way. Now, I'm not finished, but it might be a beginning ❤️
the best listener of the uk for a reason :) thank you so much!
So helpful in my time of need. Had to provide a really long backstory that took almost 30 minutes to explain, and he wasn't hesitant at all in listening to the whole thing! I feel much better about the situation I currently in thanks to him.
Jake's been wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our conversation! He is very good at maintaining a professional behaviour while also being able to relax beautifully and relate with you to the point that the conversations just flow like you're talking with a good friend in no time!
He helped me gain confidence and clear confusions I had.
Great, insightful listener with a lovely sense of humor!!
Jake is amazing, totally on my level, no pressure, just there to chat and conversation flows immediately. Someone on your level who just gets being a teenager.
I haven't met a listener like him, I am sure we will keep up contact!
Really patient and understanding. He let me know he understood exactly how I was feeling and helped me to see things in a clearer, calmer way. Awesome listener!

During my short time with Jake we were able to relate. I truly appreciate the time he put into understanding my situation and he is an excellent listener.
If you're looking for someone to help you through whatever problem you have, I highly recommend this man. Jake listens and makes you feel like you're talking to an old friend. I wasn't sure if I could say what I wanted to talk about but Jake puts you completely at ease and I felt so much better about things in almost no time at all. Thank you Jake for being here when I needed a friend.
