Bio

Gabby trained as both a general and psychiatric nurse. With over 30 years experience in the healthcare profession she has vast experience in a number of clinical fields - medical and surgical, intensive and specialist care units, cardiology, respiratory, allergy, health screening and community mental health.

Having a specific interest in stress and anxiety management, Gabby also works as a fully qualified psychotherapist using the Human Givens Approach where she attained a higher diploma from Nottingham Trent University. She is a member of the Human Givens Institute and has worked with troubled teenagers in schools, in adult psychiatry and privately from her home in Bray using the principles of Human Givens therapy very effectively. As an enhancement to her work Gabby also uses Heart Math technology which helps people to self regulate their emotions to enrich their life experiences using tools that enable them to better recognize and access their intuitive insight and heart intelligence.

In addition, she has a keen interest in the whole area of preventative medicine and also works as nutritional coach and a GAPS practitioner as she sees the importance of our food in relation to both our emotional and physical health having the understanding that it can feed either health or disease, depending on our choices! In her consultations she offers Food Intolerance Testing, as it can so often be an underlying driver of anxiety and depression and other emotional and physical issues. She has recently returned from the US having completed the first part of the certificate program in Functional Medicine

Gabby is in regular demand for consultancy work, presentation seminars and workshops, particularly in the area of emotional and nutritional health in community organizations and in the workplace.

Gabby currently is teaching the first Mental Health course to be offered in Marino College in Dublin using the ideas from the Human Givens model of psychotherapy, along with Nutrition and Nursing Skills. She has recently set up a Meet Up group in Dublin with the vision of sharing the most up to date knowledge and ideas in the whole area of emotional, nutritional and preventative medicine helping people to empower themselves to make informed decisions to assist them in the direction of optimal health.
