Bio
Having been in the professional healing arts for close to 40 years, I consider myself fortunate in that I have been educated through my patients struggles and humanity, to develop an attentive ear to hear the critical importance and nature of their personal history; the psychosocial implications of family dynamics and personal development embedded in their present day maladies. I’ve steadily learned how color, ethnicity, gender, age, environment, relationships and income are intertwined in physical and organic illnesses. With my original formal training in the field of chiropractic (now including acupuncture and nutrition) these difficulties I encountered surpassed simple biomechanics and early on I recognized the interplay between the body and psyche. In this circuitous way, my profession led me to study in the therapeutic fields of Bioenergetics and Jungian analysis, opening new vistas to the body-mind connections, appreciating the depth of human behavior and all its related metaphors/myths.
During my mid-thirties I was able to apply this creatively with my work at the City kids Foundation in New York City. It is a not-for-profit foundation that gives a platform to youth to speak out on issues that impact their lives. I ran weekly workshops for 5 years utilizing the creative arts to explore topics of racism, ethnicity, sexuality and gender orientation, peer pressure, addiction, etc., established a peer counseling and leadership training program (along with my professional partner) and was available for personal counseling as warranted.
Currently living in Boulder Colorado, I continue my practice and studies, treating organic dysfunctions and engaged at times within the community to coaching kids and presenting lectures to the community.
