Partner losing feelings

...See more We had a talk over the phone and he was numbed out to all my tears, even directly saying he feels empty. He said he’s been losing feelings. And yet he insists he still loves me and will always love me. He tried comforting my by saying it’ll be okay. That it’s not over yet, we’ll talk once he gets back from his trip. If anything ends, we’ll still stay in contact. I feel like my whole life is falling apart. He is my whole world, the only person I feel truly safe with. He was my first for everything, and I imagined he’d be the last. I still want him to be the last. Even if things end. I promised so much to him and he did to me. I still want to keep my promises of designing him a tower in the woods, where he can play piano, paint and write his books. The promise of never leaving his corner. Of always being there, like before, to help him climb out of his depressive state. I don’t think anyone could compare to him. And it would never be fair for me to even search for a second relationship. I would always think of him instead. I want to try everything before we end things for good. I want to suggest relationship counseling, to have him try something new with me. I don’t want to give up yet. What more can I do besides giving up?
