Need to talk to someone?

More Filters

It can sometimes be difficult to find support from family members, friends, or like minded people. While you might have a best friend or a support system and network such as groups on social media, you might want to seek support without any social interaction.

Our listeners provide emotional support through active listening. Active listening helps process your emotional distress. The following page can be filtered to seek listeners who provide long-term help and support. You can also browse listeners according to your preferred language as well as for different topics amongst other filters.

7 Cups is a chat site/app that has different options to find a good listener. You can meet new people and text chat with other individuals going through tough times - you are not alone! Everyone goes through a hard time at some point in their lives and we are here for you. Whether you are facing relationship problems, panic attacks, struggling with substance abuse, loneliness, depression, anxiety, or any other mental health issue, our site/app is a safe space based on confidential, anonymous support.

A good idea is to consider what form of support you would like in the first place - we have plenty of options to explore and one of the best ways is to give them a try to find out what works for you. We understand that different people have different needs and preferences. All these support services are appropriate for different situations.

This page can help you seek a trained active listener to talk to through 1-on-1 conversations. These listeners come from different walks of life and all are ready to offer a compassionate listening ear to people who would like to talk to someone else. You can select their username to view their detailed profile page with their shared bio and other information such as whether they have lived experience of mental health conditions or topics, their reviews, as well as their training and other badges. While our listeners do not provide direct advice, their support can help you vent your feelings and concerns in a safe space and you can work together to figure out healthy coping tools.

Listener conversations can vary in duration according to your listener's and your personal availability. Some listeners have the option to schedule chats with them in advance. You can always browse for listeners and leave them a message so that they can get back to you with their availability.

There are several other ways you can find someone to talk to at 7 Cups. These include the group chats and subcommunities. We are glad you are taking the first step towards support!

Our group chat rooms are online chat rooms that serve as different support groups where you can send text messages 24/7. We are a global community with people from all over the world. Some chat rooms include the Sharing Circle room, which is a non-judgemental safe space based on the traditions of AA and similar support groups. This space can prove helpful if you need a group of people to talk to who can listen and get to know you over a long time. Sharing your feelings and experiences as well as listening to those of others can help feel supported. You can expand your support network and make online supportive friends and connections!

On the other hand, if you would like to interact with people and talk to someone over forums, we have dedicated subcommunities for over 45+ topics covering a wide range of mental illness support topics through various sub-forums. Our subcommunities provide support, awareness, events, as well as opportunities to participate in light-hearted icebreakers.

Apart from the above mentioned mental health services at 7 Cups, we have affordable therapy options allowing you to seek online therapy for mental health problems with an online therapist, licensed psychologist, and other mental health professionals. This support is affordable as compared to other online and offline services or other options like support through insurance companies. Therapists are also available to talk to throughout the week on working days.

While our community can help support you after you have lost someone else to suicide, 7 Cups is not to be used in the state of active/passive suicidal thoughts - for such cases, please visit helpful resources such as the Samaritans or National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. For a complete list of helpful resources, click here.

If you would like to gain further insight and helpful information about different mental health topics, you can visit our Community Questions and Answers pages, or read our Expert Mental Health News and Advice articles. Other main features you can explore include our self-help guides and growth paths based on treatment protocols available for free!

The bottom line is, you are never alone - 7 Cups is a community aiming to provide compassion on a global scale. There are various ways to talk to someone at 7 Cups. These include 1-on-1 conversations based on active listening and support through trained listeners, group chats with support discussions and Sharing Circles, and the subcommunity forums. Other features that you may find helpful include the growth paths, community questions and answers, as well as expert advice sections.

Head of Content and Product Team Member  I am unfortunately unable to take member chats at this moment. I strongly believe in psychology - as a psychology student - I view our Psyches/psychology to be a key for all success in life. I believe that soulfully, we are all butterflies - we suffer from trials and misfortunes, and bit by bit, we are purified by our sufferings, until we are able to soar like a great butterfly. But the greatest thing amongst the chaos of this world, is that we can unite in the face of darkness in order to grasp the light. Conquer your life today, and reach out whenever needed! 🦋I am a verified, trained active listener with experience on several leadership teams here. I believe in the power of listening and motivating one another for success. Apart from my work here, I am a bookworm, poet, and lifelong learner. I enjoy advocating mental health and have leadership experience and training. 🦋 My journey at 7 Cups started as an intern. I graduated my internship here with honors, and put together a project on Social Media Depression (link found at the end of my bio). 🦋 My current roles include being the Programs Coordinator - I oversee the Content Volunteer Team and the Translations Project. I also enjoy being a Peer Supporter, Moderator/Room Supporter, as well as a forum-worm). 🦋 In the past, I have loved being the CML for the Veterans and Military Support Community and the Family and Caregivers Support Community as well. I have worked with great teams including the 35+ and 50+ subcommunities, and have been a discussion writer and feed team member as well. 🦋 I have not been raised or born in Pakistan and am only just recently adjusting to the culture/norms associated with the country. My first and primary language is English and I am not fluent enough in Urdu. Kindly respect that. 🦋If you are interested in learning more about the Community Projects and the Honors project, discussed above, please click the links below. Thank you! Hello, thank you for finding me on 7 cups! You can call me Rana, if that's easier! I'm a female in my mid 30s. I know how tough it can be to want to talk to someone about what you are feeling. I will try my best to listen to whatever problems you may be having, but my listening strengths are in general anxiety, social anxiety, grief, and disabilities. I've also dealt with self esteem issues. I can't guarantee solutions, only a shoulder to lean on when you need it and open ears to hear you out. Topics that I do not talk about: •Pregnancy •Childcare If my status is set to offline, please feel free to leave me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Please don’t reach out if you’re wanting an inappropriate chat!   💕There's no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let others get inspired by how you deal with your imperfections. 💕 ☕️☕️☕️☕️Love this analogy!☕️☕️☕️☕️ You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, causing you to spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? ""Because someone bumped into me!!!" Nope. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup will spill out. So...when life shakes you (and it WILL), whatever is inside you will come out. The big question is "'What's in MY cup?" When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, appreciation, love, acceptance? Hostility, anger, judgement, harsh words and exhaustion? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Especially right now, it's so important to make sure we fill our cups with the good stuff - forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness and love for others. 7Cups For the Searching Soul FREE Kindle https://www.amazon.com/7-Cups-Searching-Soul-7Cups-ebook/dp/B01BFWMCXY [https://www.amazon.com/7-Cups-Searching-Soul-7Cups-ebook/dp/B01BFWMCXY] ⁉️TAROT One Question One Card ⁉️ 🎆Informs a Question & Shows Another Perspective Through Your Eyes 👀 Only --My Status Information!-- Red: I am NOT likely online, so shoot me a message!  Orange: I am definitely online, and am answering PMs! Understanding what depression is begins the journey toward recovering from depression. You may not realize that depression symptoms are not just emotional. Depression is much more than a low mood, feeling sad, and being irritable. There are cognitive (e.g., self-criticism and hopeless thoughts), behavioral (e.g., isolating from others and having difficulty ’getting started’ with activities), and physical (e.g., sleep problems and change in appetite) symptoms as well. The mind and body are very much connected, and the way that depression affects someone demonstrates that strong connection. Learn more about what depression is by reading the Depression Guide on 7 Cups of Tea’s website. "To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless." -Gilbert K. Chesterton Hi there! My name is Roo, and welcome to my profile! For members:  I am so glad that you've decided to reach out and talk about whatever it is that is on your mind! I know how scary and intimidating it can seem sometimes, but just know that I am here to provide a safe, positive, and nonjudgmental space for you to talk ❤ The topics I specialize in are LGBTQ+ related issues, and anxiety, but I promise to do my best to help you no matter what you may be struggling with! I also am willing to talk about issues regarding sexuality, or issues regarding sex. This does NOT mean I am willing to engage in a sexual chat WHATSOEVER. Some topics I'm not so good at are eating disorders and trauma. Sometimes there is a better suited listener, and I just want to make sure you are receiving the best support possible! If you feel we might not make a good fit, you can click >here [/notes/7cups.com/BrowseListeners]< to browse for other listeners. I DO NOT take chats on self-harm, as these are triggering topics for me. Thank you for understanding! For Listeners: I am also a member of the verifiers team, so I can conduct a mock chat with you to help you earn the verified listeners badge. To learn about this and apply for a mock chat, click >here [https://www.7cups.com/forum/ListenerProjectsampTeams_148/VerifiedListenersProjectVLProjectQualityProject_685/IWanttobeaVerifiedListener_46935/1/]< I am a former Quality Teen Star, Support Team Leader, Feed Team Leader, and Chat Supporter/Peer Supporter. If you have any questions regarding to this, don't hesitate to ask!   About me My name is Roo and my pronouns are she/her. I live in the USA with my 4 chicken children (and my family of course). I love to dance, read, listen to music, and to paint. I am a self-proclaimed literature JUNKIE and quote enthusiast. I consider myself to be an advocate for mental illness and equality. I believe everyone deserves to feel loved and respected 💕 I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and I support people of all sexual/gender/romantic identities.🌈 I joined 7 cups in May of 2017 while seeking support during a difficult time in my life. In October of 2017 I signed up to be a listener, in hopes of making a positive impact on other's lives, and surrounding myself with love and compassion. I am very passionate about the 7 cups community, and I am always looking for someplace to improve myself :) Lovely person reading my bio, here are some things I want you to know: You are strong. Stronger than you could ever know. You are alive, right now, at this very moment! Do you know how much strength it takes to just be alive? ⭐ You are beautiful. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Often times we lack the ability to see the beauty in ourselves that others see in us. Regardless of how you look, you are beautiful, inside and out.  ⭐ You are worth it. Your self worth can not be measured by anything anyone says, or what your brain tells you either! You deserve love, happiness, and respect. You deserve to get better. ⭐ I believe in you. I think that everyone has the ability to heal, to pursue their goals, and to have good mental health. You are no different! No matter what is going on in your life, or how difficult your struggles might be, I am rooting for you! ⭐ I am here for you. We all come from different walks of life, and I will never judge you because of yours. I am here to support you and offer kindness, sympathy, and compassion. I hope that we can be friends! ⚠This account is a SAFE SPACE for ALL. Anyone who tries to invade that safe space WILL be blocked & reported IMMEDIATELY.⚠
