20 More Positive Affirmations That Will Help You Love Yourself

How to use the ‘Law of Attraction' to improve your life
20 more self affirmations

You dream of feeling calm and capable, ready to take on your days no matter what unexpected chaos comes your way. Instead of handling hardships with aplomb, though, you're more likely to freak out.

Self-Affirmations and the ‘Law of Attraction'

How do you attain a level of zen that allows you to take each thing as it comes with grace? One proven method for helping quiet your mind and bolster your mood is repeating meaningful mantras called self affirmations.

Self affirmations are based on the Law of Attraction, which posits that you will reap rewards based on the focus of your thoughts. Jack Canfield, creator of The Chicken Soup for the Soul book series says on his website, "If you stay focused on the good and positive things in your life, you will automatically attract more good and positive things into your life."

To laser in on the good stuff, you can utilize affirmation apps such as ThinkUp and Shine, purchase decks of pre-written affirmations or use our suggestions. Last month, 7 Cups offered 20 affirmations to get you started, and this time we've curated 20 more statements to tell yourself regularly to help your life go a little more smoothly.

Self-Affirmation Methods

"Speak the affirmation out loud for about five minutes three times a day — morning, midday and evening. An ideal time to do this is when you're putting your makeup or shaving so that you can look at yourself in the mirror as you repeat the positive statement," says Dr. Ronald Alexander, psychotherapist, mindfulness expert, clinical trainer, and author of "Wise Mind, Open Mind". "Another option that helps to reinforce the new belief and would be easy to do at work is to write out the affirmation several times in a notebook. Notice over time as you write if your style of writing changes. This could be a clue as to how your mind perceives the new concept."

20 More Daily Affirmations

Feel free to pick and choose what resonates with you from our of 20 more statements:

  1. I refuse to give up because I haven't tried all possible ways.

  2. I can. I will. End of story.

  3. I am free from failure and limitation.

  4. I no longer need the approval of others. I am free. I am me.

  5. I don't sweat the small stuff.

  6. Happiness is my birthright. I embrace happiness as my set point state of being.

  7. I find joy and pleasure in the most simple things in life.

  8. I easily find solutions to challenges and roadblocks and move past them quickly.

  9. I see fear as the fuel for my success and take bold action in spite of it.

  18. I forgive myself for not being perfect.

  19. I am happy to be here.

  20. I begin my day by affirming the positive and end my day with gratitude.

Qualifying Affirmations to Make Them Your Own

If some of these affirmations don't feel authentic to you, consider adding a qualifier. Instead of "I find joy and pleasure in most simple things in life", you could instead try, "I choose to find joy and pleasure in most simple things in life." Or, in lieu of saying, "I forgive myself for not being perfect" you might say, "I'm in the process of forgiving myself for not being perfect."

Start in a place that feels right and repeat, repeat, repeat. Don't give up and remember, there's no better kind of love than self love.
