Who Are You (Really?)

Find out your purpose in life based on your answers to this self-discovery quiz
Who are you really

Self Discovery is defined as “the process of acquiring insight into one's own character.” So what does it mean to discover yourself?? Is it possible to have ‘been’ yourself all these years and still not ‘know’ yourself? You better believe it. I see it all the time because what better way to really get inside your head- than to invite a therapist along into it, right?

Self Discovery means first, becoming aware of what makes YOU you. The messages you tell yourself, the ways those messages make you feel, whose voice seems to be giving the messages- is it your own or has someone else put them there until you mistake them for your own. The things you can do, want to do, and have failed at. The choices you have made and how they have affected you and the choices others have made and how much they affected you. Self Discovery means trying new things… New ways of seeing the world, new ways of relating, new ways of thinking and being and seeing how it all feels and works for YOU. Figuring out your purpose in life based on all these clues!

Along the way it’s ok to say “I don’t know”! To change your mind! Knowing what to avoid is often more valuable than knowing what you think you want and just because we’ve lost our way doesn’t mean that we are lost forever.

One of my favorite tools for self discovery is the game of Kokology. Kokology is the study of kokorowhich means "mind" or "spirit". The main focus is the analysis of the deep psyche. (It's kind of like a Rorschach test that uses words instead of inkblots.) My clients always think it is a fun way to inspire some insight into themselves! Which is important… because what better way to discover yourself than to have a little fun too, right? Checkout one of the exercises below and see what you learn!
