Perimenopause, partner, and autism
Diagnosed with autism and ADHD at 32. Signed up for therapy here, but couldn't help but notice my therapists answers looked like AI structured them. The tone was slightly impersonal and I wasn't getting much out of the messages. I compared an answer given and it was worded almost exactly the same. I suppose I prefer to talk to someone on video but it wasn't affordable for me, so I figured going with the messages was fine. There were no grammatical errors,and it just didn't sound like a normal human. Has anyone experienced this? I stopped after about four messages back and forth, I sent a report here but I am unsure if it will amount to anything as it may be subjective.
I am experiencing really bad PMDD exacerbation, misphonia, sensitivity to light mood swings, forgetting things, itchy inner ear canal, itchy skin, irritability, struggling to work as the breadwinner, night sweats, no libido, drooping face, depression, lack of joy, lack of motivation, vaginal dryness to the point of micro-tears, waking at three am. I have an appointment next week but I am almost certain I won't be taken seriously. I signed up to Winona around June (my 34th birthday) and they told me they don't give HRT to anyone under 35, so that was a bust. As if it just randomly starts when they say it does. There is a study on ND women experiencing symptoms early. There's no blood test for peri, just symptoms. I started having hot flashes two years ago. I'm going to ask for a POI test to rule out lack of eggs. It's probably not helpful to be so stressed. I was on Wellbutrin but it gave me vasovagal synoscope and I was collapsing in public and scared to drive because of that. It was some sort of gaba interaction but my doctor wouldn't tell me exactly what so I can fix this one my own without pharmaceuticals. Allopathic medicine has largely failed me. Has anyone had success with planned parenthood or others online? I might be able to make it in my super old car but would prefer to do telehealth.
I am on a stimulant but it's not helping my mood. Or much else, it just makes me feel flat. At least I am getting stuff done, now, but it all seems so pointless. I live in a house that's falling down and my partner refuses to get a normal job, instead relying on me to pay for everything for years now. Had the audacity to ask me to pay him a certain amount weekly, on top of paying his half of the shared bills. I told him I would try but I can't do it. I often struggle to get to work because he griefs me about normal stuff in MY home (like something is dirty because I ate and then went to bed, or there are objects of any kind on the kitchen counter, many of which he leaves daily) I cannot take this hypocrisy. He hasn't really spoken to me since yesterday. Spends hours on his phone and got defensive a few months ago when I brought up digital well-being app to track his usage. I never mentioned it again. He can't write because there are no ergonomic pencils for left handed people, or none that I have found. He is an engineer that used to build aircraft, now he just focuses on his garden mostly. I am glad for him, but it is extremely apparent how disabled he is. He hasn't taken any steps toward getting disability... How do I bring this up?
I have a contractor coming from canada to help with the roof patch as there are massive holes in my roof. Partner of seven years said to have fun with him implying I am trying to be with someone else. Ouch. No, I am desperate for manual labor from a craftsman, he felt bad for us so he is coming to help, the fact that I couldn't find an American willing, or who can follow procedure is concerning. I don't think my partner understands how much he has soured my opinion on men, I am really not attracted to them whatsoever. It doesn't feel like I am in a relationship at all, he refuses to do very basic relationship activities. HE NEVER LEAVES the house, except for short trips to get the mail. His reasoning behind not doing nice things for me is that my ADHD is so bad, it ruins his life(I forget stuff and he blows up over the washer being loaded but not started (it was bedsheets, we both should be responsible for bedsheets, just start the load or remove it to wash your clothes). He hates my time management, but I do not have a strict schedule because it makes me feel like I am in prison. He takes issue with me doing dishes for fifteen minutes... I like to take my time, it's not like I have much worthwhile to do in my daily life. I am so depressed, I can't get into my hobbies. I do not like his opinion on therapy, he seems to think I should absorb all his bull, he has a hard time outsourcing ANYTHING as he has never had any significant amount of money. I have held down many jobs this entire time, and even bought a house with no mortgage. He lost his license of no fault of his own (insurance doubled overlap) two years ago and I just paid for him to get a state ID THIS WEEK. My life is starting to suck because he is absolutely no fun and isn't treating his depression or eating well. We both just found out we are not getting ANY significant sources of d3, calcium, magnesium, K2 or minerals. So I know that will contribute to issues. He has state insurance but our general doctors are not helpful (won't run simple tests or do a physical exam). I'm not this guy's mommy, and I don't know how to get him to have his own life. I used to do things for myself like go to the spa, and I haven't been able to in almost a decade because I have been carrying us financially.
I am tired of "man keeping" but it's not kind to just put someone out on their butt with no support system. I'm starting to feel kind of cruel, but I have to try and live like I am single as I have gotten so disappointed over this relationship lately. We are surviving, escaped shootings and stabbings in Daytona two years ago. It has been a really traumatic almost decade. Thoughts?
@LoquaciousWoman
HI there. You share on quite a few subjects. It seems like there is perhaps quite a lot of things bothering you right now. I wonder if a common theme is not being heard?
It sounds like you feel your doctor has not heard that you are worried about periomenopause. That the therapy was perhaps an AI and not a human at all. And your partner is ignoring you regarding his phone use and how you want to organise things.
How does it feel to be ignored in this way?
It really stinks. It feels as if my needs do not matter. I have been dismissed my entire life and learned I have autism.
Update: I just started on oral contraceptives and effexor as a last resort. Immediately I was getting a bit of relief on cycle day five.
He called me the C word yesterday and I haven't really spoken to him. He knows I have misphonia but bangs the coffee pod container on the brittle plastic trash can, at 4 am this morning. He hasn't done any perimenopause research as far as I know. I have told him I don't feel like myself and I am having a bunch of symptoms, plus pmdd. He is not giving me grace.
