Working from home and the shifted work culture of the pandemic has really blurred the lines between the work-life areas of people’s lives. The idea of ‘working from home’ is a good example as people had to find boundaries and set time schedules within the comfort of their own home. This can obviously make it difficult for some to be ‘truly relaxed’ as they are essentially at the office at home.
The work-life balance is a very delicate and unique thing, it’s important to find that ‘just-right’ spot that will maximize our productivity at work but at the same time finding adequate time to reset and self-care for ourselves. Those with families, spending time with their families as well. It’s important to know how much you’re willing to work but at the same time how much you value your ‘life’ time as well.
Several suggestions the article made was before accepting a job or position, get to know what type of boss/manager you have. Some bosse make it their priority to give employees more freedom and flexibility to manage their time at home as well as in work, while others expect a fixed and certain amount of hours at work.
