How Do You Stay Mindful of Your Spending?
Advertisers love holidays because during these times, people are more likely to respond to offers and buy things they don't need, also known as impulsive buying. Oftentimes, this behavior causes stress later on.
In addition to advertisements, coupons, discounts, free gifts, and other marketing gimmicks scattered all over the web and offline. When someone is already dealing with financial problems, the inability to join the hype can also add to stress.

The bank account statement helps lol "you're broke, just don't". XD
I think making a "to-buy" list helps before heading over to any shopping place, that way we are more focused on the thing actually needed, instead of wandering around mindlessly in a store and buying something simply because it'll feel "bad" otherwise to the salespeople around (*smh*). Personal boundaries and stronger willpower are helpful too hehe.
Thank you for this post, Cherie, looking forward to other tips also, they are always handy, especially with the marketing gimmicks companies and stores have been coming up with lately (remember Zomato? LOL! good for the company-pov but not as good as the consumer hehe). And thank you for the articles as well. will read them now. ❤️
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou I agree. Wandering around mindlessly oftentimes is the culprit of impulsive purchase.
That bank account warning is powerful lol
However, there are many payment methods now that may trap us even when our bank account is screaming "Don't you dare!!!" XD For example, buy now pay later (bnpl) payment method is now on the rise.
Thanks for the tip and thoughts, Sunnie 🤗

Ooh yes, these schemes are too persuasive also, I'm still kinda able to be at bay from the "comforting assurance" they provide though lol, so far so good. 😂
Hahaha yasss, we definitely gotta give them that. Best ever copywriters smh! I give in 6 out of 10 times for it. 🤧
And anytime, Cherie, always pleased to! 🤗
