Hello!. ¿Any advice on how to let go of a toxic friendship that's been going on for 7 years? I'm dependent on this person, who just keeps ignoring me on purpose and hurting me, and the best thing to do is leave. I've tried it before but it's difficult... any advice could help me, I'm not good at making friends and I'm also introverted so I see it as somewhat difficult to make new friends soon And that only makes me more afraid of letting go, because I'll be alone. I'm not good at setting boundaries or expressing myself. It would be very helpful to hear advice on that too...

Hi! First of all, you can be proud of yourself for recognizing and understanding that you’re in a toxic friendship… that’s the very first step toward healing ❤️‍🩹.

Now for your own good, it’s better to distance yourself, and sometimes cutting ties completely can be the best solution. I know it’s very hard to turn the page and it’s not an easy decision, but you’ll realize afterwards that you’ll finally feel free from that hold.

You won’t necessarily be alone think of your family, and even if you’re introverted, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to make new friends. You need to be surrounded during this time, and I can be there for you and maybe be a support for you :)

You don’t deserve to suffer in a friendship, that’s not normal… I’m here for you.

Letting go is all you can do really, sometimes in life you’ll be alone, but, don’t worry. Focus on yourself and eventually you’ll meet new people who you’ll have fun with and the more you’re exposed to new things the less socially anxious you’ll be. Hardest and worst part of letting go is realizing how long you’ve known someone and you don’t remember them like you used to. Every relationship is a lesson that’ll make you stronger.
