A listener who has sucessfully faced a fear and knows how to teach others how to do it too

This is my second attempt at posting a classified, trying to find a listener...any listener who knows about facing fears, doing things you fear to do. I struggle with social anxiety as well as other fears and phobias and nothing I've tried has helped me take that leap and actually do something I fear to do. My first posting got one response but althought that listener claimed to know how to explain how to do things yuo fear, in reality, she did not. Oh she could give me some ideas about WHAT to do (most of which anyone could find on their own doing a Google search) but she coudln't tell me HOW she did any of it.

This is my second attempt at finding such a teacher. Surely in this vast global community there must be one listener who can help me, who can teach the "HOW TO" of facing fears. I live in hope.

@BrightWriter I have absolutely no idea if I would be the listener you are looking for. Facing fears is definitely no easy task. I used to be afraid of going on stage and presenting myself in front of people, but I no longer have that major fear burdening me on my shoulders. Do I still get anxiety over it? Sure I do, but that doesn't mean I can't do it, that doesn't mean I can't overcome it. I used to have fear about approaching others and attempting to be their friends. Now, I just go for it. If they want to be my friend, that's great. If they don't want to be my friend, that's okay to. I introduce myself and direct my conversation on them so that I act act more as a listener. When I was in an island in Italy, my cousins were all jumping off cliffs. I can't say I would do that all the time, especially if I don't know how to land properly, but I jumped off a large one once. I decided to just forget everything and go for it. I used to be afraid of rollercoasters that go upsidedown, but now I invite them and theme parks are my favorite thing to go to. Facing your fears is no easy task - it's all about putting away the negative thoughts and reshaping your mindset, no matter what the case may be. Always weigh the consequences and try not to do anything too dangerous, but put yourself out there. If something goes wrong, remember that is okay and you can always get up from it in the end.

This process takes a lot of time and a lot of courage. You never ever have to rush yourself into making such frightful decisions. Don't be afraid to think, but also don't be afraid to do. You can do anything you put your mind to. I don't know if I've helped you at all, but feel free to shoot me a message if you want to and I can get back to you as soon as I can. I hope the best for you and that you continue to be brave! I mean, give yourself some credit. You came online and opened yourself up to a bunch of strangers ;) Have a wonderful day!

@BrightWriter

I have faced fears and overcome a lot of anxieties. I still have a plenty to do in this arena. I would be happy to share my experiences and say how I did it. Keep in mind though that what worked for me may not necessarily work for you as we are all individuals and need to find our own strategies.
