Looking for a long term listener
Hey, my name is Nicole. I have had some serious emotion managing issues lately and would like to talk about this with a listener (above all when I discuss with my partner). I also have some doubts about dating a man who is 6 years older than me and has a son. I feel sometimes anxious about it and would like to know how parenting and life with a kid in it really is. Hi Nicole, Have you also thought about posting in the Relationships and Family forums too for some advice and discussion?
With your boyfriend already having a son would mean you are walking into a readymade family and that can be quite tricky if you have no experience with children, or like children. How do you all get on? Do you talk about the situation as many step-children can resent a new person coming into the relationship and perhaps see you as trying to take on or replace their mum.

We actually get very well together. He is really loving with me even though he has complained a couple of times about me hugging his dad for example. But we talk it through and he understands. His dad takes it easy.
