Seeking a long-term listener
Im looking for a long-term listener. I struggle with MDD, chronic illness, and weight problems. My husband of 9 years is unable to keep a job. He has been diagnosed with avoidant personality disorder and formerly generalized anxiety disorder. I resigned from a long term position in September 2016 because of my struggles with suspected fibromyalgia (no definite diagnosis, but my doctors best guess). So now we live with my father and stepmother. I tried to go back to work twice in 2017 — once at a desk job where I developed new health issues and had to resign, and once at a restaurant where I worked myself into physical exhaustion and had to quit because of my pain and inability to recover from illnesses. We have a brilliant 7 year old son and Im hoping to better myself so I can be a much better mother. I do the best I can, but chronic illness and depression often prevent me from successful functioning. I understand I will have to be the one to push through and find a job with enough income to support us to get out of our situation but it is hard to find such a career in my hometown and I have no money to move. I also resent my husband for his inability to work, especially since I have been ill. Most days I struggle to get out of bed, riddled with pain, depression, and fear. I have no money for therapy and my insurance covered therapy takes months to make an appointment and then months in between appointments so Im reaching out online.

Sorry you are going through the same things I am. I am willing to be a long term listener for you however they took my acct away for 2 weeks and I am hopeing to get it back on Sunday. I would love to chat with you and help. There are free clinics for Mental Health have you looked into these? I am starting to go to one next week. They also have free support groups. Not sure if you live in the US but if you do have you filled for SII? You might also look into the pleasant activities list on the web to get some fun back in you and your family's life.

Hey sounds like a awful place to be. I know how depression can really make small things have a lot of resistance. It can become difficult and fustrating to get dressed in the mornings. That alone can take 3 hours. I can be an ocational listener, a backup to @DanaMHH.
I am having a hard time myself but can offer sometime to help. There are options. Like Dana said there are free clinics in many countries in the world. You just need to find them. There's also us online!
