Want Listener who's first language is English.
Depression, anxiety, loneliness.
I only get worse when trying to find a listener and being given someone who's first language is not English, I have tried but often I find that it becomes very hard to communicate with someone who may not be fully proficient in English. Which is of course frustrating, and I come here to talk to someone not be frustrated constantly.
I don't like the by the book stuff that some listeners start off with, lets just have a normal conversation so that I can feel more comfortable actually sharing with you.

Feel free to go to our "browse listeners" page. There you can review listeners, see their country of origin, do a specialized search based on your requirements for a listener. I'm hoping this will be most helpful to you!

@Nightengale Unfortunately 7 Cups does not check how proficient in English listeners are. Maybe the best way to find a listener whose English is good is to check that the listener does not speak any other language. As far as I know, the filters on our Browse Listeners page cannot help you with this, specifically, but you can look at listeners' profiles one by one until you find one who fits the requirement.
Also unfortunately, 7 Cups does suggest the "by the book stuff" that some listeners start off with. I think perhaps that more experienced listeners have the confidence to chat more normally. You could check listeners' profiles to see how many reviews they have, as a way to measure their experience in chats.
If a listener lets you down by being unable to communicate effectively, then you might want to consider reporting the listener so that they can get help to improve. Otherwise that listener might go on to cause frustration to other members.

Hey ! It's okay sometimes one doesn't connect with the other person. I have just joined this platform and I saw the option of filter while choosing your listener , maybe trying countries with English language dominance could help.
