I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But importantly, talk about getting it done..... or why it didn't happen yet.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

Do Your Best and Get Your rest.
Things are can be harder than what we first think. That's OK, You can do it. It's normal. Do your best. Be kind to yourself and Be kind to others.

This week I'd like to focus on, the fact that,
It Takes a Village!

5kjjwjoXItZ4A.gif

Not only a long time, but lots of help from others.

Last week you all talked about reaching out to others and i regret i did not have the time to include myself in the conversation. I thought it ia a very important topic, and i read every word. I'd like to carry the conversation into this weeks thread. (I feel bad often, not having time. It helps a lot when others give a little when they can. 🥰)

@caringShoulder1357, @ArtisticAngel999

I know I didn’t respond last week But I’ve been stressing on my own Timetable. I sometimes feel guilty and feel selfish when I just do the best I can do and I hope it helps. I am extremely happy that you Found this thread and commented here. I hope you find this simple space a place that you’d like to come back to and contribute whenever you can.

@Enthenia, @mytwistedsoul,
@caringShoulder1357, ArtisticAngel999

This is such an amazing powerful topic. This actually lands on the core value of why I started this thread. There were so many disjointed topics (but good ones) within 7Cups, it could take all afternoon (all day) to go through all the topics to give support and hearts and conversation to Them all, and then feeling overwhelmed, start to lose touch and not really connect.

Have you ever found fault with the person in the parade that throws candy and goodies to the crowd? These are usually local events and perhaps you knew the Person. Maybe a school teacher or scout master, a preacher a friend or a neighbor. They’re taking their whole morning to ride in the parade and throw treats to the crowd. Do you get mad because they didn’t stop and talk to you or maybe you got your feelings hurt because they didn’t wave or even see you. I can understand getting feelings hurt, when I see someone and they don’t see me and I expected more. Especially young people. I think older people with their wisdom know how much time it takes to try to spread goodwill to a large group of people.

For me, within 7 cups, giving a heart of support is the same as throwing out a piece of candy. I don’t have time to stop and talk but I hope that simple acknowledgment brings a little bit of sweetness to your day and a reminder that you are not alone. I know that’s how I feel when somebody gives me a heart of support. I am so thankful. To even take the time to go through A 100 posts and send a heart of support without having time to read all the post, It’s still an act of love to me. (But I do get it. It’s easy to get our feelings hurt if that person that we know, throwing out the candy, didn’t even wave to us or give us a smile, human nature…. I get it)

@caringShoulder1357, ArtisticAngel999. So, I’d just like to say to you two, Thank you and I think you are on the right track and it is so honorable and uplifting and just beautiful that you want to do more. Thank you so much, Don’t think this is weird but I love you for it! Just do the best you can. It helps Soooo Much! 💗

And to: @mytwistedsoul. You have such an amazing way with words. I just love reading your comforting approach and your understanding attitude. Thank you for how much you contribute to me and others here. A friend indeed.

And to: @Enthenia, It is very hard to find the right words and say at the right thing at the right time. Giving hearts of support is not an obligation that we have to remember to do.  It’s an act of love to remind somebody that they are seen and they are Important. I think it matters less how they are given and is more important of how we received them. Thank you for all your hearts support, From the bottom of my heart, thanks.

And to the member that supported me in 2021, when I was ready to give up! I’ve come a long way since then… because of you. Thank You @bestVase7265, with love. I hope you are still around and I hope you are doing well.

@mytwistedsoul (I saw a friend reaching out to you on our other thread. -bubblegum)

@IsayUncle I have to remember to tick the heart because I forget.

I get the analogy and it's a side of the coin that I didn't consider. Reading replies is time consuming and it can be difficult not to get emotionally invested if you're the type of person who is prone to that. I can see where a generic response may seem condenscending but it actually isn't.  No one can see what's going on the other side of the fence unless they are there to begin with.

Aye, that's the rub and although my thoughts are not along the lines of Hamlet's when he made that statement, it's still a quandry of sorts because there seems to be a sort of expectation for us to be able to perceive anything and everything from all angles and perspectives whilst remaining charmingly imperfect beings. A feat that cannot be done.

Now since I have the retina specialist and the dentist this week, my goal is to get through this week. Hopefully the dog's food will actually arrive at my address today. It said it was delivered Friday but it wasn't. Have no idea where it went but it wasn't my place. They replicated the order for me free of charge. Good thing I bought her a small bag of food at the pet store Wed.

@Enthenia

Yea, that's the ticket! You got the idea 😀.

Sometimes there just isn't enough time. I often feel bad when I come to the thread and I have time to reply to one friend and then I run out of time. I often give hearts of support to my other friends and Hope they understand that I see and hear them, I'm touching base, but lack the time to chat. I also like it when people make me feel good too.

It looks like you got plenty going on with your doctor's appointments. What's going on with the Retina specialist? I'm sure you probably talked about it earlier and I just forgot. Good luck with them this week. That's great that they reimbursed you for dog food. That's a big deal especially when low on funds. I'm waiting for some eye medicine for my dogs. They said it was delivered but I haven't gotten it yet either.

And yes, sometimes things could be quite the quandary.. But we keep doing the best we can, beyound the pitfalls and it helps a lot just to be able to talk about it.

The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.” Confucius

@IsayUncle I don't know. When I went in January, the specialist said to come back in April and if he was satisfied, that would be it. I went back in April. He didn't say there was anything really wrong aside from what I already had with my poor eyesight but I was scheduled for the appointment tomorrow. So, I guess he wasn't satisfied. At least I have enough on my HSA card to cover the cost. Will have to factor in food somewhere along the line which I don't have money for right now and I can't use my HSA card for.

Got the dog food from the locker this morning. They delivered it late. Sort of wish they would have left it at the door which they tend to do but maybe because the first package didn't arrive...And that wasn't my fault. It was left at the wrong address. Brought the wagon out with us at four something this morning because I knew I couldn't carry a 32+ lb box from the lockers back to the apartment. Had a bit of trouble getting it out of the locker.

Nothing else has really happened. Lost an earpiece this morning but found it again. Well, someone else who works in the office found it. Didn't realize it was missing until I went to take things out of my bag. I've been using the wired ones so I was surprised that one had come off. The earpieces are detachable and I've never had it happen before but I guess when I put my mobile and the earphones into my bag close to the office (like I tend to do), one didn't go into the zippered part of the bag (which was open) and the friction caused it to fall off. It must not have been as securely connected as the other one. It was on the rocks but it was hard to see even though it was silver and purple. I suppose it wouldn't have been difficult to find if I had known where it had fallen off...

I thanked the person. I could not have gone without headphones today. More people in the office today and more mindless chatter.

My clothing order came yesterday and I'm wearing one of the new shirts. I was correct to choose the smaller size. It fits better thatn what I've been wearing which means I will need to change out all the clothes I have from the move and I will definitely need to get more cold weather attire as all of mine are too big now. Yet another expense I can't really afford.

Was having problems with the survey app. It says I can't do surveys with a VPN but the VPN says it's off so I don't know what the issue is. I went to the survey site. Did a couple and have like two dollars. Got screened out of a lot of them but then I saw a bonus offer on the bottom. It's a numbers matching game where you connect numbered squares i.e., 2 can be connected to 2 then connected to 4, 8, 16, etc. I've played a game like it before and the bonus is $12 if I do all the steps. One is a purchase but I'm not going to do that. I've just started it and I've gotten to level 6. Now 7. There are ads but they're quiet. Maybe with this and what I've got on other platforms, I'll have enough to get something to eat tomorrow. It's going to be over 110 again and I'll be near downtown. There's probably still construction down there so I'll have that to deal with. Have a hat and sunglasses to wear over my glasses since my eyes will be dilated and I have it scheduled fairly early in the morning but it's still going to be a long day. I plan on going to the post office afterwards to pick up my mail since the mail room is still closed at the apartments. Been that way almost the entire year I think.

However right now, I suppose I'd better go to the restroom and get back to the game as I will have to leave work in fifteen minutes.

Sadly, I sincerely know how you feel. I just got notified yesterday of a dear friend passing away in another state. I never made things right with her (just a friend i hurt) And now I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to deal with our acquaintances and friends. I wish I could just sit for 3 or 4 days to do what I feel like needs doing. But I can't. 😞😢.

I guess I'm gonna do the best that I can And let my private grieving be part of my process. I'm gonna try to be careful not to let a long time to pass before it becomes insignificant.

I wish you the best on your journey and I hope you can find little bits of time to do what you need to do. We need to be patient with ourselves, and grieve in our own way and in our own time.

And in the process, take a breath and feel some peace this weekend.💜🤗

Thank you. Because of the new semester and mentoring students, I actually didn't get a weekend. It's a weekend that I have to work every year, but it was tough with my back problems which suddenly decided to flair up. I am probably going to need a steroid injection soon.

I am sorry for your friend's passing. Sometimes grieving in private is the best way to work through some of those emotions, but they are hard.

Dad was 94 and his passing was very drawn out over the last year so we did get to say goodbye. Mom's was much quicker and rougher because she died in extreme pain of bone cancer. I will hopefully get a chance to better process everything someday. @IsayUncle

Yes and I have also had four surgeries in the last year, a herniated disc unrelated to the surgeries and was just diagnosed with several small hopefully benign tumors on my spinal nerves.

So it has been a ton and I don't know where to turn next. But I keep trying to do it all in small bites. However the exhaustion of this last year is really getting to me and my despair at things ever going well again has increased. @mytwistedsoul

It's so very hard with the constant Physical and emotional setbacks. I'm really sorry. You can come out of the disparity but it's OK to accept it for a little while too, until you're ready. Just hang in there, And do your best to ride these lows out. Just believe and know How strong you are and how things can get better.

It doesn't take much to trigger us when we are very fragile. But you are right, You don't have to be reminded. It would be nicer to be supported and encouraged. I can understand how very tired you must be, and I'm sure your sister didn't mean to cause You extra pressure.

We shouldn't Project two years of hardship in the future when you just need to cope with today. And What we Do Today can totally change our future selves a little bit at a time. Instead of getting overwhelmed from all the hardships of the future, just stop. Take some small part of the day for yourself, cup of tea, a forced smile for a few seconds, Some deep breaths, some easy breaths And a reminder to yourself, that you can do this. It'll be OK. You may feel beat down now but you are stronger than you Know.. 🤗

It was for your Dad, and now, I read the post about your Mom. And I'm really sorry. .It really must be a very hard time for you. You must be very sad. @IsayUncle Hey Uncle! I wanted to reply yesterday but I have to admit my Monday came in like that song, I came in like a wrecking ball. 😂 A big tree came down across the lane. What a mess.

I don't want to speak for the others here but I understand not having the time to engage in a conversation. I feel the same way about the hearts too. It the acknowledgment, a little way of telling someone you hear them. I'm a chronic heart giver 😂

Thank you for your kind words here. They mean a lot to me. I know sometimes it takes me a while to reply back to people but a lot of that is because I try to find the right words. Like @Enthenia said last week, without tone or visual cues .... it can be so easy for misunderstandings to happen. I had this happen with someone here last week, even though I tried my hardest to avoid that.

I want you to know that I appreciate you and the effort you put into this motivation thread. I know it's not easy with everything else that's going on in your life, with work and other personal things. You are awesome, never forget that! Much love to you Uncle! ❤️

Thanks man. that means a lot. I'm really sorry about the tree.... it could have fallen closer to the sawmill.... 😏. but it doesn't sound like it caused any damage. 👍

You and Entehenia are right about finding the right words. I have to admit, 7 cups taught me a lot about that. i used to be a wrecking ball in a china shop.... now maybe, just a baby bull sometimes. 😁. I don't reply immediatly sometimes too for the same reason. it's hard.

Sometimes it's on us. (understanding most comments are well intended, even if not well written). I like this approach a lot,  "Take the best, Leave the rest".... i do that a lot and it helps. ☺️.

Never worry about the time you take, you're busy too and your commenets are gems when you leave them. thanks.

Oh I hear you there. I think I was in the same china shop in the beginning! Nice place, hope they had good insurance 😁😂 This place does teach you things... some good... some eh 😬

You are right though about it being on us. Most comments do have good intentions and people mean well. I know there is a little bit of a language barrier at times too.

Hope this week has treated you well!

Well today was a Griswald/Chevy Chase/National Lampoon day. Took longer to walk down to the bus stop than I thought and one bus just pulled away as I was leaving the apartment complex. Started to worry that I'd be late but it turned out that the time I had expected to take the bus. Sat in the lobby of the office building because I was really early. Tried to do some surveys until it got close to time to what I thought was my appointment. Ended up taking the stairs. The elevators were small and in constant use. Thought it would be easier to go up five flights. Hard on my knees and it took two turns to go up a floor but I got up to the fifth floor. Talked to the receptionist and she found out that I was a week early for the appointment. Since I lost my appointment print out in the move, I had not known that. Could have sworn it was the same week as the dentist appointment. So, I've got to go back next week. Asked the receptionist for the key for the restroom then went back downstairs.

Since I had nothing else to do, I plugged my mobile in the lobby and read the book I had brought with me. No one was in the lobby so I had plenty of time. Which was good because the outlet was not near a chair. Lots of people came around the corner where I had the mobile plugged in but no one noticed it (thankfully). Many people don't look at the floor apparently.

I read my book until the mobile had charged fully then left. I didn't want to make the security guard suspicious. Had to wait a bit for the bus and had to walk further to the temporary stop because they were still doing road construction. The last time I was down there was in April and it really doesn't look like much has been done.

Finished my book on the bus ride back then had to wait a bit for the next bus. Did another survey. Got off at the post office to collect my mail but there was only one letter which wasn't even mine. I tried to verify because it's been a month since I last got my mail and I know I should have had a debit card but the post office worker said that's all there was. The mail room in the apartment complex isn't open. It has a steel outer door but the signs stating that the mail room is closed until further notice are still on the door behind the steel door. If it was open, I'd think they'd remove the signs. I just can't believe that I had absolutely no mail in a month not with it being an election year. I personally don't care about the political mailings, but it just seems odd. I asked the post office worker if there was anything outstanding and he said no. So that was that. Had to wait another half hour for the bus since I was only at the post office five minutes. Honestly thought it would take longer.

Dog was glad to see me. She wanted to go out and play with her ball, but it was practically noon when I got back. Too hot to go out and play even though I took her out to throw some trash away. She's lounging in the open doorway now. She really liked looking outside even though we're in a heat advisory again.

Got a text message from my academic coach. She noticed that I was 83% complete with the program. I knew that too. Sent her an email because an explanation of what's been going on with me was too much for a text.

I don't want to be pulled but today is the last day to enroll in anything and I can't do that because I still have to pay what I owe and I think I have $8 in one account and not even a dollar in another.

Doing surveys again because my refrigerator is running empty. Had only two vegan protein bars yesterday during my journey. Might be why I fell asleep an hour or so after I returned home. Could have also been the heat and other things. Today is pretty much the same situation as yesterday (only having a handful of things for lunch like a meat stick and some seaweed squares. Plus one vegan protein bar). Hopefully I can get some things tomorrow after I go to the dentist and return a package that got delivered to me by mistake. The dentist, grocery store, and rental center where I can do the return are all in the same shopping center so that's convenient. Wanted to take the bus to the healthy grocery store but I don't know if I'll have earned enough money for that.

@Enthenia I guess that's why they've been having all his movies on lately. I never realized Chevy Chase week was a thing.

110 omg. Is it a dry heat or does it have the humidity with it? Kudos for climbing 5 flights of stairs but omg that would have been frustrating to get there and find out it isn't until next week.
Road construction seems to go on forever. Around here they put new pavement down and then tear it up in spots to run water or electric. Seems like a waste of tax money tbh

Can you call where the debit card is from? To verify it was sent or maybe they should send a new one?
Eww another heat advisory? Is it always so hot there? Poor pup needs an air conditioned suit so she can play outside with out risking heat stroke.

Good luck at the dentist tomorrow! I'm sorry to hear about the class. Hopefully things get a little better and maybe you can rejoin later. I know that's often easier said than done though. I hope you can get some groceries tomorrow too. Stay safe in the heat!

@mytwistedsoul well I had an "Action required" notice on the debit card. I put off ordering a new one because I knew where it was. Or at least I thought I knew where it was. When the postal worker told me that one mail which had a different person's name was all they had, I requested a new card and said the other one never arrived. It should come at the beginning of next month.

The good thing about the appointment being next week is that I get paid Tuesday night so depending on the weather (as I'll be going down there at least two hours later than I went yesterday and I'll be stuck there for at least two hours. That means it'll be noon when I get out and my eyes will be dilated. Not sure if I'll want to go to the store afterwards or not. The one I don't get to that often. I have sunglasses that my mom sent me which will fit over mine and I have my hat so I could go up there. The bus that I take down to the medical building will take me up to the street the market is on. I'm not sure exactly where the bus stop is that's closest to the market on the south side. I may have to get off at the stop where I usually catch the bus to get back home. If it's not too hot then, that is.

I don't have to worry about the dentist. He's never an issue which is why I only go twice a year. I've always taken care of my teeth. Well, I didn't when I was a child but I didn't have anything serious. Just cavities. Wish my eyes were as good as my teeth. Tomorrow it's supposed to only get to 109 so it's not as bad as yesterday.

Oh and I thought this when I left work but didn't put it down. I didn't even know there was a Chevy Chase week and it was relevant to what I said. I haven't really seen many of his films. I haven't seen all the films that I own. I download a lot of audio files. Mystery, drama, detective, suspense, comedy, etc. I can listen to them while I'm doing other things like play with the dog.

@Enthenia 109 is ... wow. There's been a few times with the heat index that it's been triple digits here but it hasn't happened often. I don't know if I could deal with that all the time.

Hopefully this card arrives with no problem. I know when I had to replace mine a few years ago it seemed to take for until it got here.

Hopefully the weather gives you a bit of a break for your eye doctor appointment and you can go to the store you don't get to very often. Although that's probably just wishful thinking on my part. It was in the 50's here this morning.
Boy I wish I didn't have to worry about the dentist. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss and use a water pick but I still always have something wrong with them. I clench my jaw a lot and grind them. I know that doesn't help much either.
I think I've seen every one of his movies at least twice. Caddy shack is probably a cult classic though.
Tbh  I tried audiobooks once. I seem to have a hard time focusing on the words if I'm listening to them.

@mytwistedsoul well today it's really humid. Rained last night or early this morning. Saw the signs of it when we left this morning. We were later than usual since I didn't have to work but she didn't stay out for too long. Met a couple of new dogs. A dachshund and a little terrier-like dog. She wagged her little tail when they came in then turned her attention back to her toy. She wasn't really into it though so I took her back. She was breathing rather hard for her. Then I had breakfast and got my return package and headed out to the dentist. Appointment was at nine and I got there a minute after nine. Ended up being there until noon. My regular dentist wasn't there so they called another one in from a different office and she decided that the crown they said I'd need the last time I was there had to be done today. That's why it took me so long. I need to eat something but my mouth is still numb.

Went to the rental place to return the package. The guy at the counter was confused too and he had to use two plastic bags because the stuff wouldn't fit into one. Then I went to the grocery store. I had $14 to spend. Have almost $10 doing the surveys so I'll be able to get things tomorrow. A few things at least.

Got home to the dog's delight. Tried calling for her but she didn't hear me. Couldn't whistle because of my mouth. Can barely drink water right now. We took the trash out and did a quick round. She's resting now. We weren't out long but the humidity is a lot for her.

Not sure what to do now. Maybe play a game but for that, I have to go over to the couch. If I get up, I might disturb her.

Oh and my appointment next week got rescheduled to October. Right after I requested the day off...

I have to see when my opthamologist appointment is because they scheduled it for October on the assumption that I'd have the specialist appointment this month. At least I can get groceries Wednesday and not have to worry too much about the heat.

@Enthenia Rain always seems to make the humidity worse most of the time. We had a storm come through the other day and it dropped almost almost 2 inches in an hour. Yeah the heat and humidity can be so hard on them.

Oh wow! I mean it good they got a jump on it but holy cow they could have prepared you a little more. I don't think mine would have been ready like that. It took me 2 separate appointments for a crown. I think they were 10 days apart too.
Hopefully you find some good deals at the store. It's always nice to be able to stretch money a little farther.
I'm sorry to hear they had to change the specialist appointment. That would be frustrating because you took the time off.

@mytwistedsoul well the dentist they called in literally that morning because mine was sick apparently didn't want to wait any longer. I got on a payment plan for the procedure which I did one time before for the heat therapy they recommended because I had too much bacteria but even with the payment plan, the amount was reasonable. Only over $400. Would have been much more without insurance. And, that should be the end of it until February although they may want me to do the heat therapy again. I think it only lasts three years and it's been over three years since then.

Been trying to raise my earnings. Didn't get to the store today because the dog wanted to be out longer this morning. The heat wasn't as bad for her this morning so I figured as long as she wasn't begging me to leave, I should let her play with her toy. Don't really have much in my refrigerator which is probably why I fell asleep a few times today. Had some eggs and sausage and yogurt with some granola I forgot I had. Got it free. Don't usually get granola so it was less than what I normally do but it should have been substantial enough.  Anyways, I have been doing surveys but the earnings have been slow. Would have been nice if I had won $10 on the gaming site but I only got 0.10.  Trying to get $4 for one game but I have to get to level 500 and I'm only at 340 something.

@mytwistedsoul Oh and since I didn't have to use my HSA card to pay the prepayment for the specialist, I used it to get some HSA eligible items. Got some pain relief pills, some fiber gummies, a mixture for calluses on feet, and some joint relief cream. Got a 32 ounce bottle. Have about $60 left on the card but the appointment is in October so I should have at least $100 on the card by then.

Didn't get to the store again this morning. Had lower back pain this morning and the dog's insistence to go out and play didn't help anything. Still trying to earn extra so I can maybe do a delivery. I have three sausage links left, I think four eggs, plain yogurt for the dog and some frozen fruit for the dog. That's it. Aside from salad dressing and I believe I used my salad last night.

Had to placate the dog earlier. A husky was out there. She's got something against huskies and then that little neighbor dog came out. At least I think it did because that's the only animal she acts that way with. Of course, I had to go to the bathroom and my back was hurting (also hungry) so I wasn't able to get her attention directed to something else too effectively. Took her out for about twenty minutes. She chased after her ball then stayed in the shade. Was after eight but it was already too hot for her. We're back inside no and like I said, I'm trying to get extra money so I can eat.

@IsayUncle

It’s officially been one month of what i like to call my tasks journey! i do 4 productive things to do each day and increase the number by 1. Today I did my laundry, did my schoolwork, and I’m still trying to find other tasks for today! Progress is slow but steady
