well whoever will listen please do
well im hope i know i have posted once i think but i kind of need some help well im 16 and i know im not officially diagnosed with bpd because im not 18 yet but iam in a treatment for it and i have many symptoms of it. i was wondering if any of you have this too. i often find myself being afriad of getting into relationships like friendships. so you try hard not to become friends or the friends you do have you become terrified they are going to leave so you try to push them away or you try to leave so you dont feel like they left you. also most people think im fake because i often switch from hating someone and then love them and its hard to control i just find that people label me fake i was just wondering if this made sense or if any of you experience this?? sorry if this doesnt have anything to do witrh anything
@imsorryitry (sorry I am replying to all your posts
I just want to make sure you know that you're being heard and you're cared about!)
I think it makes complete sense that you feel this way. When we have a more unstable/anxious attachment type, relationships can be a scary thing. Because, the people in our lives mean a lot to us, but at the same time, we can be afraid that they will leave or hurt us, and so it feels like the better option to act before that happens, which leads us to push people away...from their perspective, it makes sense that they feel you are being "fake", since they don't understand what you're feeling and just see your actions towards them change suddenly. But it doesn't mean you are fake, and it's not really anyone's fault on either side. Feeling this way about relationships can relate to bpd, but not always, but the important thing is how this is impacting your life.
We have this nice self-help guide on 7cups that deals with attachment anxiety, maybe it would be a bit useful to read through? Of course in conjunction with your ongoing therapy
