Kaise Khafa Ho Jaaun Tumse? (A hindi poetry)
Kaise khafa ho jaaun tumse,
jab tumhari namaujoodgi ki gawaahi di hai maine
apne hi dil ko tod ke?
Meri ranjishon ka haq tha tujhpe.
Tune uss ghar mein jhaank ke dekha,
jahaan kabhi koi na raha.
Tere husn ne meri rooh pe aisi rehmat kya jamaayi,
ki mere chhote se jahaan ko guroor de aayi.
Toh kaise kar liya tune yeh faisla
itne posheeda andaaz mein,
jab teri hi ijaazat se
maine apna har dhaaga khola?
Har dhalti dhoop mein
teri hi roshni talaashi.
Toh ab andhera kaise daraaye mujhe,
jab teri garmaahat ne mujhe
itna mehfooz kar diya..

How could I ever be angry with you,
when I have borne witness to your absence
by breaking my own heart?
Even my grievances had a claim upon you.
You peered into that home
where no one had ever been before.
What grace did your beauty leave upon my soul,
that it filled my little world
with a pride I had never known?
So how did you come to make this decision
in such a hidden manner,
when, with your permission,
I had unravelled every thread of myself before you?
In every fading sunlight,
I searched only for your light.
So how could darkness frighten me now,
when your warmth had made me
feel so utterly safe..
