Have you ever hit rock bottom?
Have you ever hit rock bottom and felt like nothing good could come out?
I feel everyone has a breaking point. When you hit rock bottom, you find darkness and no hopes. Nothing is aligning in your favor and you feel stuck and isolated. There is nothing difficult than fighting for something and you find no changes in it for good.
Maybe your relationships falling apart or your studies or career experiencing all-time low. Family is not supporting you the way you want them to.
Whatever it is, it doesn't look good.
When I hit rock bottom, I felt stuck and isolated. Issues escalated and everything looked dark, hopeless and nowhere to escape. Today when I reflect back, I realize a few things that I think everyone needs to know-
1. If you follow the ray of light in the dark tunnel, you will get out of it. It feels like it is all dark but if you pause and observe, you will find a way to follow the ray of light in the middle of a dark tunnel.
2. You always have a choice. Everything you do or do not is your CHOICE. Either you quit or improve your odds of success by keep trying. If you are reading this right now, it is your choice. If you feel comfortable to share your story or believe in something or not, it is again your choice. So, your life is the sum of the choices you made.
3. Life was never easy and it never will be. If today you are facing a struggle in relationships, tomorrow you might experience a challenge in your professional life and after that in family life. Not necessarily in the same order but struggle never ends. But all you do is keep yourself together and keep moving on forward. And, that is how you find ways to face a challenge and overcome a problem. Believe it, you got this and you can get over it.

I have hit rock bottom loads of times. There were days when I felt down and nothing good will come out of it. But I somehow get up, wipe the dust off my clothes and walk forward looking for that light. Life is like that.
@azuladragon34 I can completely relate to it Azula. That is how we keep moving in life. Good to see you today. How are you doing?
Yeah, many times. When my wife died, when girlfriends dumped me, when I was unemployed. I have always kept going though, found jobs, girlfriends, maybe a wife someday.
@Offmytrack I can understand how things were for you Off and appreciate that you kept going. How are you doing? I didn't see you in a while.
@ASilentObserver - Hi, I am doing very well these days. I am moving in with my girlfriend next weekend at her request. Good things do happen, just not often enough.
@ASilentObserver
yes there were times i hit rock till bottom , but please don't ask me why its a long story .
hope you'll understand
@ASilentObserver
Very well written . I especially love the 3rd point which says : "Life was never easy and it never will be" .
Thanks for sharing.
@calmsoulmeet Hey Soul, Glad to see you. How is it going? I didn't see you in a while. I am happy that you liked it. I shared what is true. Thank you.
@ASilentObserver Hey Obs. Unfortunately I am not too well . But it's fine I guess. It is what it is. Thank you for asking . Hope u r well.
@calmsoulmeet I am sorry to hear Calm. I hope you feel better. Sending hugs 💕
@ASilentObserver Thanks a lot !!!.♥
I'm at Rock bottom now. I mean rock rock bottom. It's with substance abuse and addiction. I know I can come out of the addiction, but I feel like there is no hope leaving the bottom. I have to start a new life at 42 years old. I don't even know if that is possible. That was amazing to read and I wish everyone the most success possible. Happiness and good health God Bless!
@Imtrying2019 I am sorry to hear it Trying and it is possible as long as you are willing to try. We all are here with you to support. Glad to see you in the community. Welcome!
@ASilentObserver thank you so much. As far as where I was when I wrote this message as to where I am now is a very much safer rock bottom as I had a relapse last night. Those stimulant comedowns I wouldn't wish on anyone, but something happened this time. ( I'm going to definitely get this rock out of the way and dig myself out of this whole know matter how long it takes me. I slipped and had a relapse. I did old habits, but I can't and won't let that keep me back just because I took a few steps that way. I will move forward and grow in a positive way. @silentobserver-Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Excellent thread topic!
Firstly ... I love that lion image there! ![]()

Okay, here we go ... I would say I've hit rock bottom in a friendship relationship at around this time last year, right before I joined 7 Cups. I had just gotten back from visiting family and friends in Michigan to find out that my best friend in Chicago, Charmaine, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had, in a matter of days since she first went to the hospital ER with abdominal pain, spread completely to her lungs (so that she could not breathe without oxygen tanks) and her liver. I had another so-called friend that I had met at a coffee and conversation meetup a few months previous to that whom I attempted to comfide in, but he turned on me when I was just asking for some kindness and emotional support from him ... implying that I had no business asking for support,
Later (a few months after he moved away from Chicago and the friendship became strictly long distance), I came to find that not only was he on 7 Cups (He had mentioned it to me earlier when we were still friends, but I didn't join because of his suggestion), but he was a 7 Cups listener! I was FURIOUS! How can a listener refuse to show empathy and then claim to "not understand" that someone going through the grief of having a best friend with a terminal illness would need some compassion and emotional support?
My friendship with him for all practical purposes ended on July 31st of last year when he was gaslighting me - implying it was my fault that I was having difficulty finding support during this time (and he's a 7 Cups listener ... huh?!).
Charmaine eventually passed away from the cancer not even two months after being diagnosed with it, but this story has a happy ending. I may have lost someone who I thought was a friend while at the same time having a close friend pass away, but I have gained many good friends here on 7 Cups when I joined on August 1st of last year and also made some more friends in Chicago as well, and I look forward to my upcoming CUPSIVERSARY next THURSDAY!

Yes, I am unemployed for a long time and feel like each day is a waste of my life
I feel like I'm in a weird pkanpce right now. In some areas, I feel like I'm rising, specifically my progress with college and building my life. But on terms of relationships, I feel like I'm facing the bottom. That it's in view and it's only a matter of time till I hit rock bottom. I don't know how to feel. I could focus on my achievements and be optimistic, but people are hurting me and dampening my mood.
I hit rock bottom, I faced it and when I can out, I felt like a completely different person. My therapist says . . . the only thing you can truly control is yourself and how you react to the world. If you want something different, then figure out how you can change yourself to get there.
@ASilentObserver
I love this.
Last year, I hitted my rock bottom, everything fell like it was falling apart, but looking back now it was my faith that there is light at the end of the road that kept me going. It has helped me to mature and grow in all aspects of life.
I am thankful for my rock bottom moment, tenses to show how strong we are.
@Helping2findaway
Same here ... I felt like I was at rock bottom last year and then I joined 7 Cups a day later 👍😊
@AbbyHarris1976
