is it possible to be successful on a journey to self love while also being in a new relationship? or do i need to break it off at least until i feel better about myself?

@hp902

That's a very good question and with my experience and guess, an answer that is unique for everyone and their situations. I'd say the typical answer and a safe answer at that would be that people find self-care in singleness as they have all the time for themselves and their number one focus is also themselves. However I had also heard people mentioning that being in a relationship has shown them the importance of self-care more so when they were single because while in a relationship it's actually important to sought out good self-care as to avoid relationship burnout. I think both perspectives are very interesting and something to think about!

see i think i can make it work i think i could be the type of person it could help. but i’m so scared of the potential for burnout. i don’t want to feel that pain or lose someone bc of my own lack of love. what can i do if burnout does end up happening? or ways to prevent it i guess?

@hp902 It is definitely possible to work on self-love while being in a new relationship. In fact, a healthy and supportive relationship can actually help you on your journey towards self-love and personal growth. it's important to make sure that you're not relying solely on your partner to validate your self-worth and that you're also taking the necessary steps to work on your own self-esteem and self-acceptance
