i met this guy a couple weeks after he’d been in a 3 year relationship and we caught feelings really fast. he nor i are ready for a relationship but we really really like each other. he’s trans and grew up in a small conservative town, and now is in college and wants to experience life. meaning, he wants to have sex with other people for experience he never got. i want him to live his life so he can heal and become his own person, but it hurts knowing he’ll do it. any advice?

@rivkahzigman
hey I hear your dilemma ! I wouldn't like my partner or someone I have feelings for being physical with someone else and would be very hurt and frustrated . So my suggestion to you is to be open about your feelings with them and try to figure out what would work for you both the best .
I hope you will keep yourself first and not agree with anything you're not comfortable with 💛

thank you so much for your comment. it feels so good to be heard. we’ve talked about it numerous times and the best thing is for him to get experiences and heal as his own person. i think we’re not going to talk about the experiences he has or tell me when he’s going to because it will make me more sad.

I am glad it felt good 🤗 @rivkahzigman
I understand that, it is a complicated situation to be in . I hope whatever you both decide is alright and you dont get hurt either . You deserve to feel safe and loved in a relationship ❤

@rivkahzigman Hmm well I'm glad you met somebody you really like. I am in an open relationship myself, but I understand not everyone is comfortable with it, and that is your choice. Would it be an option to allow your partner to "explore" for a limited period of time, like 1-3 months and then regroup and see if you both feel more ready for a monogamous relationship at that point?

i think that’s the plan. i don’t want to give him a specific timeline though because i don’t want him to feel rushed into anything he’s not ready for. but in the meantime, i don’t want to be apart from him. so i think i just need to learn to not care about what he’s doing as long as i know he likes me! thank you so much for your advice<3
