Came up empty for alterative topics for tomorrow's car ride w/ Dad and Mom

I have an eye appointment tomorrow at a specialist eye doctor.   Due to the fact of where it is,  it means Dad has to drive Mom and I to and from it.   I really don't like Dad driving for several reasons and one of the main reasons is the entire car ride to and from there Dad will talk non stop in the car about the news.  I'm sick and tired of hearing him talk non-stop about the news in the house.  

Mom suggested since Thursday (or Friday?) about finding  alterative  topics to talk about but I have come up empty I don't want to talk about news.  And if I talk about history Dad will take over the conversation.    I can't talk about Not Always Right or The Nursery Nurse because I wouldn't be reading or watching those things until we get back tomorrow.
