Last night my bf and I (5 yrs together) got into a fight. Without going into details, I said something that I believed was right he told me I was wrong and then proved it to me. I came back with I was wrong I’m sorry but by then he was already provoked and heated and too far gone. He gets mad, furious, angry, etc, etc. when we fight. He shouts , says mean things to me. Yesterday morning I had surgery, it was outpatient to remove a skin issue but minor surgery nonetheless. He was kind during the day but after the fight. He kept going on saying “why do I even waste my time with you today. I should have let you find your own way to the hospital”’ when I asked him to stop yelling at me. He got even more mad, saying I don’t care that you’re in pain from your procedure you *** me off so I don’t care. I have no need to help you with anything.

While struggling to get up stairs or sit down he doesn’t even bat an eyelash. I couldn’t even get into bed and he just didn’t even look in my direction just closed his eyes and went to bed. While I understand he was mad about our fight, how can he honestly not care about how I am doing. He’s supposed to love me. How can you watch someone you love be unable to do something because they are in pain and not even look in their direction? I don’t think I can stay with someone like this.

I’m sorry for what you are feeling but you need to face the truth even if it’s difficult, now I don't know how good your bf was to you in the past sometimes and sometimes anger can be blinding and not under one’s control, but if he kept doing this to you then you should take it as a big red flag

and am not saying do this straight away because just like I said some people don't have control over their anger and anger takes full control of them, it’s unfortunate but don't take it as an excuse on behalf of your wellbeing.

What would help in this situation in my opinion is clear communication with him without a blaming tone just make it light and express yourself.

Hope you recover from your surgery be well and take care of yourself you deserve to be happy.

Sorry to hear this. At a time when you need love, care and attention he’s still ranting at you. I understand your concerns. I hope you begin to heal soon. Take care, Rosie 🌹
