Parents don't listen when I'm in pain. Even when I'm clearly telling them I am.

I really want to bang my head.  So I have a high pain tolerance level.     Mom says when I'm in pain  I should tell them more clearly.  But I told them like 3 different times I  did tell them clearly and they still dismissed me.

Sometime around 2017,  I had a terrible pain in my mouth.  It's was so bad that it was bitting my cheek.  Since Dad was away and Mom was going to work, after I got back from my own work and after having lunch. I had to call denist myself by calling it after searching for it.   And  I walked up there and turned out I had wisdom teeth jutting into my jaw.

In Feb 2020,  I was in a rush to get to  my volunteer work and I fall outside of a former neighbour's house at the top of the hill. I managed to walk to the church.  But I asked Dad to pick me up  after I dropped someone at the library.    I complained for weeks afterwards that my leg was in pain but they didn't listen to me.  So i think my leg/knee is still messed up because of that because people from the day program said that my leg looked "bad"  about a week, or two weeks before everything shut down.

Then last year  with the gall bladder problem..  I  was in pain in the side  in both May and June.  i could do okay in May walking around the pool several times. But when I tried to walk around in June I could barley walk around the pool once I was in so much pain.    I did tell my parents but they didn't listen.

When I had the conversation with Mom about my pain and when we talked about the gall bladder incident,  Mom said "I should have said I could barley walk around once"  I did tell them,  and they still dismissed it.

Trust me you are not alone. Take this as context, I have a step dad who thinks he own everything and he has to control everything and anything that everyone does. He does not express emotions that much and will only talk to you about studying, exercise and that kind of stuff. Back when I was like 9 or something my step dad and mom had this fight while having dinner. My mom got up went to my room and started packing my stuff so we could leave. At this time I also had a 3 year old brother. My stepdad then ran to the room and I dont know what he did. But all I could hear was my mom yelling for my name to come help her. I was so little here and my mom didnt know how to defend herself. I then ran to the room and I saw that my dad was just like hitting her. It wasnt a full beating but he kept pushing her and holding her nose and just hitting her head. He had my 3 year old brother in one hand and hitting my mom in the other and i'm just standing there watching because I have no power. It has been almost 7 years and I still remember that day and I can't stop thinking about all the things my step dad has done to my mom, physically or mentally.

The reason why I shared that experience of mine was because if I told my parents that I keep thinking about traumatic events that happened in my life, they would brush it off and say get over it.
