Screening for Listeners
I had a guy ask me for social media handles b/c we are now "friends". I said whoa, you aren't supposed to do that. He arrogantly informed me that "without trust we can no longer be friends".
All of these folks should NOT be on this site. They are creating a horrible environment. He is blocked and reported. I am sick of humans using this site to make buddies then punishing me for it. If you can't be "friends" on this site then you have an agenda. Disgusting behaviour. The more I meet humans in this stink world the more I love my mythical dog.

I am very sorry to hear that you had this experience here on 7Cups. You are right, it's against the rules to share social media information and this listener had no right to ask you this. Sorry that it made you feel bad but I am happy that you managed not to give it and did all the steps that are suggesting in these kind of situation: you blocked and reported him. I am sure that community managers will notice this and take action to prevent these kind of situations <3 I know that you are upset after that conversation, but I want you to know that not every listener are like him. I am encouraging you to seek our listeners - I am sure you can have better experience this time. You can browse listeners and find the best fit here
@RaCat Thank you very much. What bothers me most is how conditional his "being friends" thing really was, what a joke, and to have this burden on you is not good, either, when you come to talk to a listener out of distress. It is an added, selfish burden whether or not they choose to recognize it. They need to find other sites and use this one for how it was intended, not lie and say they are following the rules. You are either a mature listener who adheres to the site's intended function or it is a game.
@howlingwolf7 yes you are completely right! I wish it would be a way to check listeners quality before they are signing up but it's not possible as listeners and members are both annonymous here. I think the best thing we could do in these kind of situations: talk about it loudly and repory listeners who are broking the rules. You did it and I am proud of you ♡♡
