Searching listeners by age?
I think it would be very handy for members and guests to be able to search listeners by age as well! I get a lot of them wanting to know about a certain age group of listeners and having preferences.Ie this post! Can we make this happen @Laura? (Also handy if we need to refer someone who has a preference.)
Im sure this idea has already come up but where do we stand on this?

@Jaelin, I'm very much for this idea, I often get members wanting to talk to listeners in a certain age bracket. However, sometimes even if they're looking for someone older than me, after talking for a while I end up being their listener anyway, so I appreciate age isn't always the barrier it might be percieved to be. I alsodon't think listeners should be made to disclose their age range if they're uncomfortable with doing so.
Well no I think it could be an optional thing, Just like having your picture up:) But many listeners put their age on their profile anyways. And its just like we have our Home Countries up there or our list of languages we speak it can be age brackets (For lack of a better term) Such as 18-23, 24-27 , 28-31 ETC And have a drop down menu where the member/guest could choose an age range. Just a thought @EtaAlpha and @Laura But I too believe that for some people it really desnt matter once they are comfortable but we should also consider that it could be usful for some, and probably not hard to implement :)
Thanks for raising this Jaelin, this subject is often brought up and I'm surprised it's never been acted on. I'm sure regardless of age there are a lot of great listeners out there. But I for one would like to chat to someone who is older than my mental health issue are! I found when I was a listener that members/guests appreciated that I stated my age in my profile and the more mature (as in age, not necessarily manner) member/guest was grateful to be able to chat to someone of a similar age with a similar amount of life experience.

I was just thinking that allow people search by age (atleast by some group of age) would be very handly) Since someone who are 40, cant really get advice form someone who are 20 aboutsome thing or maybe he do not feel comfortable by speaking with much younger person
