Browse Listeners search update
Hello!
Excellent news, our engineering and product squads have been hard at work researching, testing, and problem solving how to make the browse listeners search better.
Known problem: search results often show listeners who are no longer active. Members choose a listener from the results assuming that listener will respond. This is not a good experience.
Awesome fix: search results will now only show listeners who have been active in the last month. Hypothetically members will be more likely to connect to an active listener. This is a good experience.
Caveat: if a member uses a lot of search filters, no listeners may show up. We will continue to work on educating members on playing around with filters and further help manage expectations.
We are excited about this update! We will continue to work on other tasks to make the experience better on both the member and listener side and appreciate everyone who makes an effort to make the listening program a great, free resource for the world.

Any step is allways better than no step and the work of techs behind the scenes most of the times goes unoticed and unpraised since we users always know how to wine and complain but so easily forget to say thank you for work done which is not easy...
Yes I am happy and grateful that browse listeners issue is adresed both at source and at user end because I have myself struggled with that to the point of giving up. (due sometimes to the fact that search never works for me on 7cups for reasons of unpractically long waiting time to the search response).

An 'opt-in' option to search for some the previous listeners would still be nice. Sometimes I just want to go back to someone when I think of something they had on their profile or feed. Not always easy to recall exact user names.

Listening .... One Step At A Time Ask a Listener Coach -
@Jill7Cups I got around to trying this out just now, but unfortunately it didn't work perfectly.
It showed me some listeners who were active "in last week", but when I tried to see their profiles I got the "On Break" page each time. Their "Leave Message" buttons still appeared to be active. This doesn't really make sense. If a listener is on a break, the Browse Listeners page should either not show them at all, or at least make it clear that they might not reply to a message any time soon.
I think it would also be useful to make it clear that Leave Message does not guarantee a quick reply.
It's not obvious to anyone new what the coloured dots mean. It would be better to explain in words and not have the mysterious dots.
By the way, in your own profile you say, "Listeners indicate if they are taking on new chats in their profile. The green dot indicates they are currently online" but this is not true. There is no green dot in any listener's profile. I think there might have been at some time in the past. A Chat Now button indicates they are currently online (in the special sense that 7 Cups uses the word online).

@Jill7Cups oops for some reason on the iPhone app I wasn't able to send a reply so you can delete the one that is empty, haha.
This is great news! I just checked it out and I noticed that when you do a search for "All Adults" the profiles that come up show "For Teens" but if you go into their profile they show " For Adults", haha. So if Anybody is looking for a listener maybe check out their profile first to make sure.
