Why is Motivation Important?

  • Goals are the stepping stones towards your dream so in order to achieve them, you need the motivation to keep you going. Not everyone is born with motivation, but it is a skill that you can learn and master no matter how old you are.

  • Motivation helps to provide us with many valuable insights into human nature. It explains why we strive for achievement and set goals. Learning about motivation is valuable because it helps us to understand where it comes from, why it may increase or decrease, and what we can change about it or not.

Benefits of motivation :

  1. Motivation helps to clarify a goal: Motivation pushes you towards your goal because you desire to change. It can help to clarify your goal so you know exactly what you are working towards.

  2. Motivation teaches perseverance: Motivation will teach you to persevere when life and others around you tell you to give up.

  3. Motivation challenges fear: Fear of failure tries to stop you from taking action on your goals, but motivation helps you to see beyond that fear and look at the bigger picture.

  4. Motivation builds self-confidence: When you are motivated to achieve your goals, confidence may be a by-product of your motivation after having seen that goal of yours achieved. After we have pushed through setbacks and fears, a sense of accomplishment is evidence of our strength.

Discussion Questions:

  1. How do you define motivation?

  2. What helps to keep you motivated?

  1. How do you define motivation? For me, motivation is the key to the door of success. Most goals are pretty hard, so finding a valuable reason to keep grinding for it is crucial.

  2. What helps to keep you motivated? Honestly, fear is a pretty big motivator for me. My fear of failure plays a big factor in my decisions. Not sure if it's healthy or not, but hey, it works.

    Happy Cupsgiving everyone! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’›

To me, motivation is the reason you try to achieve a goal. Is the drive, the thing that keeps you going, even when things are tough. It is the hope for whatever you may achieve at the end of your goal.

A few different things help keep me motivated! Deadlines for a project really help remind me that I need to keep going, the fear of not finishing things is something that I really don't like. Having music that I enjoy listening to also tends to help. I could also set a reward for myself, like "after I finish this task, I can relax and do a fun thing for 15 minutes".

Having an established schedule, a routine keeps me motivated. It's easier when you do things automatically, you don't have to force yourself to do them.

I define motivation as any drive you have to do anything. Something that keeps me motivated is the need to keep my mental health and physical health in tact. When I feel good, I can spread that to others.

Honestly, procrastination makes me feel so ill that I just find it easier to get the job done, no matter what it is. I can't take the pressure and the anxiety that procrastination causes. Even in the worst circumstances, even if I'm freaked out, I'd rather just slog through it.

1) Personally, motivation is like a surge of energy or inspiration you have to keep you going.

2) Fear of missing out or being left behind in life. That keeps me going all the time.

For me motivation is the desire to do something which typically is lacking when I'm depressed.

To help with motivation, I make sure I exercise and get a reasonable amount to sleep (if I can help it, sometimes my work schedule interrupts this) Once I'm able to feel well I try to write down what I want to accomplish that day and try to be easy with what I want to do. I make a list and say "what do I desire most?" and do that thing. Sometimes it gets a ball rolling other days I just do the one thing. But the day after I feel better and want to do more, even if it's just one more thing. It makes me feel good. I like seeing the things I cross off as my accomplishments and makes me want to keep going.

So I guess keeping a good homeostasis and achieving small successes keeps me motivated to continue.

1. How do you define motivation?

Motivation means the drive to succeed and the dedication to ensure that your goals are fruitful!

2. What helps to keep you motivated?

Well, I like envisioning my goals clearly and telling myself if I keep on working hard, this is what I will get. I find that this way helps me focus on what's important and stay positive as well knowing that all my hard work will eventually be paid off with a single success <3

  1. How do you define motivation?

Motivation, for me, is the unconscious drive to keep going and keep it moving, no matter what my circumstances are!

  2. What helps to keep you motivated?

My family, close friends, and non-stop thirst for success in aspects of my life! Even in times where I just want to give up on what I have in mind, there'll always be something or someone to prompt me to do the opposite.

1. Disclaimer that I might not be good at explaining stuff. Motivation is not just the "get up", but also the "want to". And the reason for it too. Or reasons. It's when we acknowledge that we get something out of doing things, whether it's enjoyment or progress toward a goal.

2. Hm. Life is basically an RPG in a lot of ways. I level up on everything. I always want to develop my abilities and become more interesting. I also... Hate being bored. I hate being bored so much that I've gotten to the point I never even let boredom sink in, I stay occupied in my mind if nothing else.
