Current process for listeners to use member services?
Back when I signed up for 7 cups, if you were a listener and you wanted to use member services (like joining the general queue to chat with a listener), you had to make a separate member account. So I did that and I've been using two accounts for a couple years.
I don't use my member account that much and I just logged into it. When I tried to join the general queue I got redirected to a page that said I would be sent a verification email. Only problem is, no email was sent. Tried multiple times, checked my spam folder, yada yada yada, I'm locked out from using member services :(
So I filed a support ticket. Maybe someday this will get fixed. Meanwhile, I have heard that the two account thing is no longer required. Is that true? Is there a way I can access member services from my listener account?
@DrumDude
You probably signed up using a different email. You should pm an admin like @Power @Heather225 @Kate maybe they can help you. Each human is allowed to have two accounts: 1 member and 1 listener account. Member accounts are for getting support and listener accounts are for giving support
good lucky
yes i did use a different email. one for each. but 7 cups is not sending the "verification email" to my member addy. i can log in fine, but i can't join the queue.
@DrumDude I know 7cups was requiring verification to use some aspects of the site, I didn't realize chatting with listeners was one now too.
You're not the only one who has issues with this, putting in the support ticket was the way to go but if you want to speed up the process it seems like sometimes another email provider works, so you can try using a different email address (you can change it in settings) and then just switch it back later.
Yes, this happened with my member account but I was able to "verify" a fake e-mail address. This means I don't get to see the spam that 7 Cups sends me, but *sigh* everything has its price.
