Leaving Feedback for your Listeners

As members and guests, if you have tried connecting 1-1 with a listener before, you should have seen a pop-up requesting you to leave a star rating and a review for your listener. Here on 7 Cups, we greatly treasure all the feedback that you have left for our amazing listeners- not only to appreciate them and motivate them further with your positive reviews, but also to guide them towards growth and improvement in their listening skills to best help other members in the future with your constructive feedback. ^_^ We read through the individual feedback that you leave for our listeners, we hear you.

Why should I leave feedback for my listeners?
Good question there, it's always good to know the rationale behind what you are doing. ^_^ As we do not know the content of the chat due to confidentiality reasons, leaving feedback would allow us to know your experience in the chat with your listeners- be it positive or negative. When you have a positive chat experience with your listeners, you can leave a positive review behind, which will be published up on their profile for potential members and for themselves to read- these will definitely give an extra boost to the listener's motivation to continue helping even more people and allows members to look out for more suitable listeners for themselves! However, we understand that our listeners are not always perfect and will have room for improvement- in this case, a constructive feedback will allow us to identify the areas where the listeners can work on to become a better listener to provide even better support to their future members and guests! ^_^ In either cases, both the listener and the members like yourself would benefit just by leaving them a feedback. :)

When do I leave feedback for them?
In your chat with your listeners, you should be prompted at least twice to leave your listeners with some feedback- once near the start of the chat and the other time at the end of the chat. When you are prompted to rate and review your listeners for the first time while you are still in the middle of the chat, simply cross away the pop-up, as seen in the image below, and continue with your chat. ^_^

At the end of the chat, you will be prompted once again to leave your listeners some feedback and that is when you have gone through the entire experience and are in the best position to provide feedback for your listeners. ^_^

How do I leave my feedback for them?
Knowing the importance and value of feedback is great, but it is also essential to know how to leave feedback for your listeners. When you are prompted to leave a feedback for the first time after exchanging several messages, please click the cross at the top right hand corner of the pop-up and continue with the chat till it ends. When your listener ends the live chat at the end of the chat, you will be prompted to leave a feedback for your listeners with the pop-up, as seen below.

As the image above has shown, you will be able to leave star ratings for your listener based on 4 main criteria of evaluation- helpfulness, empathy, professionalism and response time, as well as a written review for your listener in the text box below. ^_^ Once you have indicated the number of stars for each category and left a feedback for them in the text box below, simply click the "Send Feedback" button and you are done leaving the feedback!

*Note that you will only need to click the "Send Feedback" button if you have left a written feedback- star ratings are recorded immediately as you click on the number of stars to leave for your listener in each category.

However, you may not always be prompted to leave a feedback for your listener at the end of the chat, especially if your listener did not end the live chat after the chat. In this case, you can be the one ending the live chat by clicking the "End Live Chat" button and you should then be prompted to leave a feedback for them. :) Alternatively, you can choose to click the star button for the pop-up to appear.


What do I leave in the feedback?
Here comes one of the highlights of the forum post. ^_^ It is good to know what to leave in the feedback to indicate your chat experience with your listener.

Star Ratings
As shown in the images, you can evaluate your listeners based on their helpfulness, empathy, professionalism and response time. While these are entirely based on your perception of their performance in the chat, here are the general guidelines to take into account when you are rating them. :)

Helpfulness: Helpfulness- in simpler terms, is how willing and the enthusiasm that your listener shows when trying to help you. (But again, it depends on our individual perspectives as well) Before rating someone for their helpfulness, it can be worth considering the listener's interest towards your concerns and how enthusiastic they are when they are trying to help you.
Empathy: Empathy is rated based on how much you feel your listener understands and relates to you. Some questions you could ask while rating is "Did my listener sound like they understood me?" "Did I feel that my listener can relate to me and connect with how I am feeling?"
Professionalism: Professionalism consists of a wide array of factors- including, but not limited to, avoiding text speech, avoiding assumptions and jumping to conclusions, not giving advice, as well as remaining appropriate and focused in the chat.
Response Time: The response time is rated based on the speed of their response to your replies, taking into account the length of their replies as well. Some questions you could ask yourself while rating is "Did the listener left me hanging at any point in time?" "Did the listener stay with me throughout the chat and responded to me promptly?"

Written Review
The written reviews are generally categorised into 3 main categories- positive, areas that listeners may need to improve on, as well as unconstructive ones.

Positive Review
When you leave positive reviews for your listeners, the reviews will be published up on their profile for other members, as well as for the listeners themselves to read. When you have a positive chat experience with a listener (We sure hope you do! ^_^), it is worth noting down the listener's strengths, how the listener has made you feel, etc- something that tells us about how awesome your listener is. These reviews are always heart-warming to read, and with more specific feedback, it will definitely add value to the positive review- bringing great impacts to those who read the reviews. However, if you are uncomfortable sharing too much details, feel free to just leave a simple positive comment for your listener. :)

Negative Review
As much as we hope that you have a positive chat experience, it may not always be possible due to our large numbers and variety of listeners around, or could also be due to incompatibility between listeners and yourself. In such cases, we would invite you to leave some constructive feedback for our listeners, pointing out where they could have performed better in the chat. For example, if they have imposed their beliefs on you that you may not agree with or feel comfortable reading, you could point that out in your feedback. :) It would make it better to be more specific in your feedback in order for us to pinpoint an area that the listener can further improve on.

Unconstructive Review
Unconstructive reviews are reviews that do not say much about the listener and areas that they could improve on- in such cases, they are usually shelved aside. It is recommended to avoid giving such reviews as these reviews do not add value to the listeners, nor help the listeners know where they could make an effort to improve on. It is best to avoid leaving generic feedback, such as "Terrible listener", "horrible" or "okay chat" as they do not reflect much about the listener nor the chat. On top of that, we ask you to avoid sensitive and confidential information, especially for positive reviews- having such information in the review may cause the positive review to be marked as unconstructive ones to avoid it being posted on listener's profile. If you are still unsure, the rule of thumb is to be more specific in areas you think the listener need more work in, and to avoid information that you think might cause discomfort to readers if they were positive ones to be published. ^_^ After all, you are leaving a review for a reason- not to have them shelved aside. :)
