I Listen Because
I am a listener with one agenda...to try my best to be there when someone is hurting and needs a friend who doesnt judge or tell them what to do. I dont know how hard your life is but I will do my best to understand.
Its not about me, its about you.
How do I become a listener, I have the app for iPhone?
@Frumpyyo42
I'm not sure about the App, but on the website I believe members have the option to "Become a listener" somewhere on the top panels. Also, you can create a new account just for listening. I like to keep my member account and listener account seperate.

I'm so glad you've joined us, Paul, what a lovely sentiment! We're very lucky to have you here, and it's true - listening is about taking ourselves out of the situation completely.

I Listen Because
I know how it feels to have to keep quiet in fears of being invalidated and ignored. I believe everyone has a story to tell that's just waiting for someone to listen. The well-being of others is very important to me. I believe us as a planet are all connected. When there are people suffering in silence, we all suffer out loud. There are too many people who aren't here today because there was no one in their lives that would just simply listen. Or they didn't know how to reach out. I listen because you matter. I listen because I've been in that very dark place before, and although your dark place is different than mine, I will do my best to share with you the light I have found, and offer you support in order to find your own.
I listen because people need their voices heard
I listen because I will not throw away the experience all of my pain has given me.
I am a listener, and honestly it's the least I can do.
Because if I can help even just one person
with something as simple as lending my time and ear
then every minute of my time will be worth it.
Listening saves lives.
And listening gives me a purpose to mine.
Quick heads up, moved to the Listener Testimonies :)
I listen because I don't want anyone to feel like they have no one talk to, or that their problems are too shameful to be heard.
I listen because I don't want anyone to feel how I used to.
