If you attend university there should be a learning center or disability center where you could get tested for ADD. If you are in high school there is usually a school counselor who can offer the testing. If you are older than high school or college you can ask your doctor. If you are over 18 your parents can’t access your medical records if you go to your doctor for testing.

Try talking to your teachers or counselors and ask them to advocate for you. If the suggestion will come from them your parents might be convinced.
