We are human and so we are prone to commiting mistakes. If you speak the truth to your mother and ask for moral support, she will understand. It is never what a parent wants, to be alienated by their children because of their position of authority.

Go to your local doctors. Join a self help group that promotes. Staying clean. Check in with a local therapist or log in to 7cups.

That sounds really difficult. If you don't want your mom to know, what about other alternatives for support for this until you feel you are able to explain things to your mom like opening up to listeners on 7 Cups, reaching out to a friend, a family member you can trust.

The hardest, but sometimes as well the strongest thing to do, is to be honest with her. The two of you together can more easily fight what happened. A lapse is a one time thing, and you will pick yourself back up.

We are only human and we all feel depressed at one point. Find something to help you deal with it and let your wounds heal. Speak with you mum and ask her for help, she will understand, afterall you are her child.

Tell them. Getting yourself off of old behaviors and onto new ones sometimes takes help. If you cannot tell your mother, find someone to help you feel accountable to, and determine if what you want in the future really is worth the suffering you must go through in order to achieve it
