It can, and sometimes the two can come together as a package deal. They both can be difficult, and should never be encountered alone.

In a way. You are more insecure about yourself and care a lot about what people think about you. So you just end up being down all the time and just not happy with yourself or others.

If anxiety interferes with your day to day life, it can get pretty frustrating and frustration could turn into depression if left uncared for, and the mixture of anxiety and depression is like cocaine and alcohol it can be deadly at times .

The weight of constantly being worried, stressed and scared about things can certainly cause depression. It's exhausting and draining to feel that way about things all the time, and for this reason anxiety and depression often go hand-in-hand.

Yes it can. Anxiety can cause symptoms of depression, when you are not sure how to work through your anxiety, or if it becomes especially overwhelming.

Of course! It can make you feel really, really bad if you're freaking out all the time and don't know why. You feel like no one understands you, and in turn get depressed.

Too much of it and the ability to not explain it can of course cause you to feel depressed, I am no different when I can't explain why or get to grips with my problems it really brings me down.

Sometimes anxiety can lead to depression but not always. Remember, both of these cans slowly be helped so it's never hopeless.

Anxiety can be debilitating and can make you avoid things you would usually enjoy in fear of anxiety or an attack. It's therefore quite isolating and being alone often and not going out much can make people feel low in mood.

Anxiety can take a lot of energy out of you, leading to feelings of fatigue, being worn down, and feeling depressed. It's important to look at your feelings throughout the whole day, and journal if you can, to help you sort out the root cause of what you're feeling. Once you have a clear picture of what's going on, you can start to work through it in a positive and productive way.

Of course. The feelings of anxiety and depression are often closely linked together, causing a vicious cycle of both, sometimes they can be experienced together, and sometimes one causes the other, often a mixture of both. The problem with diagnosis is that emotions and feelings don't fit neatly into boxes, and emotions are fluid and interchangeable. Problematic thinking patterns or low endorphin levels in the brain can easily manifest itself as both anxiety and depression, although they may appear very different, they are actually very similar.

Yes, you can feel like you've hit a wall. Anxiety can be draining & drown out positive emotions so the negatives feel stronger. Recognizing it helps though. It helps you see your depressed thoughts are caused by irrational anxious thoughts & you don't need to give in to them

I believe so yes, feeling anxious can be exhausting and of course make you feel low - so conditions such as these would usually come hand in hand.

Yes, it's possible. Whenever my anxiety is at it's worst it makes me feel helpless which in the end causes me to feel depressed.

I guess sometimes, but usually it is depression that causes anxiety. When I was younger it was different, more like the first one, but now it is second.

Yes it can, especially when you try to ignore feelings of anxiety or put them in the back of your mind. You can use a feelings journal... every time you feel anxious, just write down "anxious" and then write why you are feeling anxious. If you are unsure, just write it down anyway. It might help a lot.

Yes. Anxiety can cause a person to question themselves in the face of situations and problems, both big and small.. If someone were to get extremely distraught by their lack of confidence they could spiral into depression.

Yes, it can. Many things can lead to depression and it's actually pretty common for anxiety and depression to go together. I know that it can be very exhausting; I used to have the anxiety+depression combo.

Yes I do believe so. Anxiety can stop you from doing things you would really love to do, so not being able to do certain things can definitely cause you to feel depressed.

Can anxiety cause depression? You bet! This is pretty common actually. Anxiety itself can be totally overwhelming and trigger many different feelings - including depression. If you're asking this question about yourself, you should consider seeing a therapist or counselor, or chatting with someone on 7 Cups. We're here for you - and you're not alone! So many others go through the same thing.

I suffer from anxiety and they seem to correlate in some way. I find that depression leads to anxiety or vice versa.
