Try doing it with other people and music. Get your friends or family to talk to you and distract you or sing a long to the music and just relax
I am sorry that this is happening to you. There are many resources that can help with easing anxiety. Some common methods can be found by exploring why highways are scary and or what am I afraid of?
You should maintain calmness while you are driving on highways,if u feel ancious jus give ur driver seat to othr

Go with someone on that first ride. With they being by your side, supporting everything should go right. You should remember, that if anything goes wrong (it won't) they will be there to help
The best way i would say is most likely driving on a highway maybe early in the morning when there are likely not many people driving on it or maybe late at night. That way you get a feel for it without there being many distractions around.
First take small steps, drive in empty parking lot or on road which has less traffic.Try to maintain calm attitude and practice mindfulness.
practice! the more comfortable you get with driving in neighborhoods and other roads, the better you'll feel on bigger scarier roads!
I believe it is important to understand what makes driving on the highway so daunting for you. Understanding that puts into perspective what to identify while you are driving. slowly build yourself up to it. Something as simple as taking the time, to try it out. Maybe start by getting on the highway and then taking the first exit, is a huge step even though it doesn't feel like it. Slowly identify what is stopping you and understanding that you can do it! Many people drive on the highway, yes it can be scary, but you got this! Just take it one exit at a time until you feel comfortable. Don't give up!!
