Staying active can be extremely beneficial towards combating anxiety. The body releases natural chemicals to offset the physical stress of exercise. As a result it helps alleviate mental stress as well. Activities such as going for a hike or a run, riding your bike, or even going to the gym can really help minimize the overwhelming feeling of anxiety.

Inhale and exhale to calm down your heart rate. Splash some water on yourself to get refreshed. Remember, you're not alone.

I have found that drawing, reading, looking at cute videos of dogs online, playing music, or any minimal things that you like for find you can do are good.

I have found music is really calming as long as just reading or going to the park! Even just going on a walk as well.

Music! Music that you can connect to, relate to or truly understand does really help. It's like you have a whole "perfect" world that you can just escape to whenever you really need to and I love this as a distraction.

I go on a walk at the park and I focus on the sounds around me, also my breathing. How my body feels and works. Basically it’s a walking meditation .

Any hobbies you love! For example Gaming, Drawing, Photography. Anything that is constructive would be good to take your mind off of it!

Distractions and how effective it is for a person may vary depending on individual interest, but generally, doing your hobbies is a good and healthy way of diverting your attention from anxiety. It could be something like writing, drawing, playing video games, exercising, etc.

So I love knitting when I get anxious because I can focus on it and create something and when it’s finished I can wear it a remind myself of my achievement.

One thing that helps me is to focus on something else. If you have a way to listen to music, then do that! Using the 5-4-3-2-1 method also works!

Take a deep breath and a nice warm shower. Treat yourself to anything you like. Play some relaxing music. Watching your favourite movies and shows helps too. What helps me the most if physical exercise. It helps me vent out all the negative thoughts. And also positive affirmations. Hope it helps you too. Best luck!

doing some form of artwork, reading a book, playing an interactive video game, going on a walk, playing with a pet, basically anything that will refocus your attention and take your mind off the anxiety.

Some things i’ve found that help me is, 1. talking to someone whether it’s texting, calling or in person 2. Listen to music, watch a movie, or read a book. This distracts your mind but doing something you really enjoy. Something i do when i have anxiety is i chose to go off alone in the bathroom and listen to the water run in the shower it calms me down. If the anxiety gets really bad and you are hyperventilating grab a paper bag and breathe in to it, drink water and try to take deep breaths and relax.

It depends on what is making you feel very anxious. If possible try to get away from what is making you anxious, to a place that is calm and more relaxed for you. You can also try focusing on your 5 senses, what you can see, hear, smell, touch, taste. Mindfulness (focusing on the here and now) and other breathing and relaxing methods also might be helpful when your anxiety gets really bad.

Music. Exercising. Trying to talk about something you're passionate about maybe? Focusing in general on something else helps imo

When your anxiety gets really bad try taking an ice cube and rubbing in along the palm of your hand. It helps to bring your mind back down to earth.

distractions from anxiety could be so many things. for example i like to rollerblade, paint, walk my dog, travel the list goes on and on. in the winter i can't do a lot of these things so i have more depression and anxiety. taking medication from your Dr. to help in panic states can help also.

1. Stop and breathe - inhale slowly through your nose and take a deep breath, exhale - use the mantra "Be Present" as you breathe 2. Writing in a journal can be a great way to get in touch with your sources of anxiety. If anxious feelings seem to be keeping you up at night, try keeping a journal or notepad next to your bed. Write down all of the things that are bothering you. 3. Redirect your focus - listen to music - go for a walk - do some chores around the house - draw, paint - read a good book or watch a funny movie Take Care! xx

drink water!! breathe slowly. close your eyes, and think about something that makes you super happy. or it couldn be something that you want to happen in your life or in the future. maybe what you want to be when you get older or who you want to marry or what you want to name your future kids. calling a friend or family member can also be so helpful when it comes to anxiety. being able to talk to someone that will listen and want to help you can feel like a weight lifted off your shoulders. just remember that it will pass.

When I am feeling anxious or feelings of panic I concentrate on my breathing, you may want to be alone but the best case scenario is if you have a close friend or family member with you. It is nothing to be ashamed of! Try listening to your favorite music or reading a book, or write what you feel down on paper, -that always helps me. Talking also helps a lot when handling your emotions; & if you feel like you have nobody to talk too, dont worry because you can always talk here! Dont be shy, after all it is anonymous and we are here to help.

I have extreme health anxiety. When my anxiety gets to its worse point, I sit down and I write. I might write poetry or maybe everything I am worried about, but it helps to see it written down. It helps me deal with my anxieties in a healthy way. Another thing I do is draw flowers. I just draw simple ones that anyone really can do. But I draw them- big ones, small ones, all in different colors. It soothes me. If someone went and looked at my papers, they would see flowers doodled everywhere. There's just something about it that calms my heart.

Whenever I become anxious (for whatever reason), I turn to a few things to help me calm down. First, I always talk to someone supportive, who understands the feeling of anxiety and who can just listen to what I am going through. These are always people I trust such as my parents or my friends. However, I understand that not everyone has that luxury of speaking to people on a daily basis. Another healthy distraction from my anxiety is exercise. It may not seem fun at first but running around a scenic location with some calming meditation music in your ear can do wonders for your mood. Using any machine at the gym is also helpful, it promotes good brain activity as well as a good lifestyle. Other exercise practices you could try for anxiety are yoga, zumba, relaxive meditation, and spin. You can even do yoga, zumba and meditation in the comfort of your own home (or dorm) with a soft mat and a computer for tips and tricks. Finally, my anxiety is released through my creativity. For anyone that loves to do art of any kind (painting, drawing, writing, playing music, sculpting) putting all your emotions into a piece can be beneficial in releasing any emotional tension.

for me any distraction is another prospective addiction... and doesnt help me with my anxiety... but theres a thing... anything that inspires your artistic nerve is a healthy distraction.. but they dont last long.. and always some other form of distraction comes up... so its all about controlling yourself and exploring new things... i have been addicted of various bad stuffs.. like gaming and movies and others.. they are good until you cant live without them.. i am yet to find what inspires my artistic nerve... i am a programmer so sometimes they are great mode of finding solace.. so find yours

New hobbies, friends, social events, activities, new skill, career, and new life styles are something to consider to kill the anxiety. Staying alone, and thinking much about past and future both are perfect breeding ground for anxiety. so starting slow to be able to move around and taking next step is the key. It is better to prepare a list of things one wants and can do without much force, like drinking water, tea, taking suppliments, listening to music, etc. These will help develop enough strengths to do more things like doing excercise, cooking, inviting friend, participating in activities. Once, things start working then sky is the limit to rise above and beyond anxiety

I like going on a walk either alone or with a friend, a family member or a dog. I also love to listen to relaxing music. I like classics or other instrumental music and movie scores. Every night I finish a coloring picture from an adult coloring book. I either do it while watching tv or listening to music. Taking a hot bath with lavender is a good way to wind down before going to bed. Sometimes the best thing you can do is curl up under blankets and watch your favourite childhood movie (preferably with your childhood toy). If you're into it, you can try yoga too. There are wonderful online videos that can help you decide if you are interested in it or not.
