When I have racing thoughts during my hypomanic phase I try journaling. I try to grasp a feeling or one thought and I write it down After that I grab one more and one more. I also use breathing exercises or guided meditations to help as well.
Lying down helps when you just can't get your thoughts to stop. I also watch tv especially things that are complicated and take you out of the current situation. I also bake and cook that helps as well
