I know how overwhelming it can feel when you're having a tough time. I offer clients a space that is non-judgemental and empathetic whilst navigating these times together.

Hard to know, but I'm wondering what the difference is? Right now he's made himself unavailable, supposedly to better himself. Maybe give him the room to try, and see what the new him looks like? Good luck to you!
Loving someone and loving oneself are two different things. Asking us if he is lying is pointless because we do not know him, but you do. You know how you feel and how much you can trust him. You know who he was so you can see who he is trying to become.
