You are the expert on you. You know your body and mind better than anyone else, because you live in them. Track your behavior patterns and note any changes: Are you sleeping more or less than usual? Is your appetite gone? Are you more emotional? Do you feel less interested in daily life or activities? Are you isolating yourself? If you find that there are many changes, having/finding support is always good. If you see a professional, you may want to express concerns. Or express concerns to loved ones you trust if you do not see a therapist. But you are the expert on you. And only you can decide what is the best path to take.
There are many ways one can figure out if they are goinf through depression. If a person has gone through depression before then they can most likely figure out when they are falling into depression again. For example, if you feel like you are having no interest in any activities or are isolating yourself from others then these may be some signs that you are falling into depression. Also if you find yourself that you are eating more or eating less, then these may also be signs on depression. It is important for everyone to trust their gut feeling and listen to what their body is telling them. You are the only person who best knows yourself.
