I have been through a lot in life too, which helps me to be able to empathize with situations, thoughts and feelings that we have. Sometimes, it's not easy just being human.

Depression is a clinical disorder characterized by the inability to function optimally even given optimal conditions. People stop enjoying things they used to enjoy, they start feeling like their emotions other than loneliness or sadness is muted, and their will to live or sense of self-preservation may be compromised. This may not be the case in a person who is merely pessimistic or subdued.

your personality is shaped by the people around you and a few genes, so if it's either one all you need to do if change it up. Let loose everyonce in a while and go find hobbies that make you feel accomplished. Create new experiences that you can look back on and laugh. http://www.7cups.com/11565174
You have depression, no one is meant to be down and negative their whole life. The good thing about depression is you can get better. It is just chemical imbalances and it can be cure. So hang in there
I think, no one is naturally a down and negative person. You may just be dealing with depression.
The most reliable way to determine if you have depression is to see a liscenced professional, but if you want, you can take the website's "Depression Test" to get a general idea.
Depression is characterized by the consistent feeling of sadness and a state of emotional emptiness.. Because the diagnosis is so in depth, only a qualified practitioner can diagnose you depressed. Feelings of sadness and negativity are common even in people who are not depressed

People were not put on this earth to be down, depressed, or have anxiety. We were put here to live our lives to how we see best. We are in control of what we do in our life. Sometimes we make the wrong decision and it sets us back. But when we figure out that is not for us, we also have the power to change it for the better. Sometimes, there are more complicated things in our minds that might need to be attended to by a doctor or counselor. Its okay to seek out help regardless of the issue.

It just depends on you, some people have depression and some are just naturally down and negative, others have a different case,
I think that you should discuss with a doctor before you should characterize yourself as that because depression will make you see yourself in a negative light.
