There are many different coping mechanisms people use. The one i use is draw a butterfly where you would usually cut. Most of the time they symbolize someone who wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. (Your mom, best friend etc) And every time you go to hurt yourself, you see the butterfly and don't want to hurt it.
