There are many ways to find out. You can research how depression feels and compare it to how you're feeling. I think the best way is to talk to a doctor/therapists to find out for sure but if you are unable to do so you can research and there are some quizzes that may help you know what it is that you are feeling.
1. eating more. 2. Eating less. 3. Not socializing. 4. Less communication 5. lack of sleep. 6. Palpitations

If you are depressed you are not interest in any activities are really sad and nothing can cheer you up as well as thinking everything is hopeless or helpless at times.
