I'd say probably you are, but maybe you are just without a focus, goal or purpose and that leaves on you standing still

Maybe see a doctor or therapist they will tell you for sure if you are depressed and may help you get over it if you have depression.

Depression is a complex illness, with a number of symptoms. Thus, while the chronic feeling of emptiness may be one of the symptoms of depression, it may not constitute such illness on it's own. In addition, there is more than one psychological conditions that often involve the feeling of emptiness (for example, it is commonly reported by people who have borderline personality disorder). If you are worried that you might be depressed, I would strongly urge you to see a psychologist and discuss this matter further, so that you may receive the help you may need. From a broader perspective, however, do explore this feeling of emptiness further. Ask yourself, what it is about? Is there anything that is lacking in your life? Perhaps you are holding some unfulfilled needs or dreams, that need to be addressed? Hope this helps, and good luck!

It can be a symptom, yes but it doesn't necessarily mean you have depression. You might be feeling empty for many other reasons too. Like, if you avoid your emotions in general and refuse to feel certain things then sometimes you might feel empty. Or you might be feeling empty because you feel like something's missing from your life like a loved one for example. So, yeah there can be a lot of reasons other than depression behind your emptiness, Try to figure out the reason and then work on it. You may feel empty and alone right now but with time it gets better

Well you may be. But being depressed isn't an emotion, it's an illness. You may be sad or upset but not depressed. Though you may have undiagnosed depression. One of the main symptoms of depression is feeling empty, feeling lost or feeling desperate. When i was still undiagnosed, i didn't think i had depression because i thought depression was always being sad and crying though mine manifested in a way that make me feel numb and angry a lot. Depression manifests in different ways. Contact your doctor if you feel like you may actually suffering with depression, it can help a lot to have a diagnosis.

This could be a sign of depression. Sometimes doing something out of the ordinary can help spark some feeling. I used to feel this way all the time. I would try being spontaneous like climbing a tree or going rock climbing. Doing routine things that don’t feel passionate can cause an empty feeling. Try something new and speak to a therapist who can help you dive down deep and get to the root of what’s happening. I use to have an empty feeling all the time that I couldn’t shake like a dark cloud around me. I didn’t bother doing to therapy for the longest time because I didn’t have the motivation. I finally went a few years ago and my life has completely changed. I found a great therapist who helped me get rid of my depression.
