It can be scary to bring the topic up, especially to family members. I like to think of these situations as a ball passing game. Right now, you have the ball (you have the problem: you want to go for therapy). If you pass the ball to your parents, they have to decide what to do with it. You see, when you trust someone to take good care of your ball, if and when they do not take good care of it, it is their doing. Not yours. The thing is, you'll never get help unless you seek help. You think you need help with depression, therefore you want to seek therapy. You need help with therapy, so it is wise to seek help from your parents. Take a deep breath and be calm and collected when you talk to them. Present your reasons and help them understand why this is important to you. I wish you all the best

depression is nothing to be shameful of. it can be really scary telling your loved ones about it, and it may take some time for them to get used to. but it will ultimatley pay off in the end because you will get the help that you need. it's best to have a face-to-face conversation about this topic. that way, you can see the person's reactions in real time, rather than by a text. tell them directly, "i think i have depression and i would like to go to therapy." if it doesn't work out with your parents, then talk to another trusted adult

The first thing you need to know is that it's okay if you feel depressed. It's not something to be embarrassed about. We feel depressed because of what's going on in our brain. Our brain is the most complicated organ in our body, and some times it gets sick too. That's what depression is. There is a difference between feeling depressed and having depression. It is always a good idea to get professional help with something like this. When we get sick with a cold or something we go to the doctor. As I mentioned before, our brain is the most complex organ in our body. So you need to get that checked. Don't be ashamed of it, and if someone doesn't understand that, it's because of their own ignorance.
