I know how you feel. For those who have not suffered with depression or anxiety, It's hard for them to understand how much it takes over. If you haven't already, you should try and find out about counselling/therapy in your area to try and get in control of your symptoms. In terms of those people who do not seem to understand, you need to be firm with them. Don't get angry or go off the rails at them as this is likely to make them not take you seriously. Say to them that what you are going through is very real and very debilitating, and if they're not willing to empathise and support you then you don't really need those people in your life.

Those people will have probably never had depression in their lives. Depression is an illness and people who are genuinely depressed can become very ill. Depression can come and go some people can have it for a month then it can pass off others can have it constantly it varies so much from person to person. They aren’t right to make that kind of judgment.

Yup, For years I suffered from the feeling that I have "unreal depression", and that my suffering was unjustified and unworthy of reference. That feeling was sometimes even worse than the issue I faced. This actually prevented me from asking for help and left me stuck. This is why I have a huge amount of appreciation for people just for being able to pronounce the words "I need help", and not just playing hide and seek by trying to send hidden signals to the world, hoping that someone will notice. Allowing myself to identify as someone that is familiar with depression (And as you can read, even now I don't feel comfortable earning the team), and face it, was one of the first steps in a very long journey I'm still walking. So I can't give you help, but I truly can relate to the feeling.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. It's sad that people quickly judge others' feelings and say it's just a phase without knowing how hard it is for you. Depression is different from just feeling sad. As mentioned on the National Institute of Mental health website, Everyone feels sad or low sometimes, but these feelings usually pass with a little time. Depression (also called a major depressive disorder or clinical depression) is different. It can cause severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. But it can be managed, fortunately. Please reach out to professionals for help and engage in physical activities plus try to eat and sleep well. Hope you feel better soon.
