I wish I knew. There was a time in my life when everything seems wonderful, and then I had a bad experience. I didn't let that stop me for the longest time, but then it started to drain me. And that was truly upsetting. Not being depressed just feels lighter, you feel like you have less of a weight on you. You aren't necessarily walking on air, but you do feel as though there is less holding you down.

A coupke years ago, I had a lot of family issues therefore leading to my self esteem dropping drastically and depression occuring. Now that I have overcome my depression, I am happy with my life and look forward to every next day! Stay hopeful :)

It's a wonderful feeling, although I have gone through depression, I have noticed that I view life differently because of it. I appreciate the good times more now, because I understand how it felt to be the valley.

Depression feels like a bad dream that you can't wake up from. It's an addiction that can eat you up slowly or completely consume you.

It's. Experiencing the freedom that the world could never achieve. I think for myself, I can leaugh without it being forced out of me. I can be happy and look in the mirror and say "I have proven society wrong" Sadness just isn't something that I want dwelled in my life forever. But happiness, true happiness is this feeling that is so beautiful I can not describe it.

From what I know about depression, it is very hard to imagine life without the debilitating aura that it casts upon people. However, as someone who has never had depression, I will do my best to relate an answer. I cannot say that I never experience sadness, nor that I am happy all the day long; however, I can say that the biggest difference is the amount of energy that I have. My aunt has struggled with depression, and many times will not want to participate in activities or do anything in general, without a lot of prompting from her immediate family. The biggest difference in her I have come to notice, is her lack of motive to become active. Life without depression does not mean life without sadness. That being said, it is easier for me to deal with said sadness when I take into consideration all of the blessings which grace my life. What is it like to not be depressed? Well it is a lot like knowing that you are walking through a rainstorm, but that there is good weather yet to come.

It is like having good self-esteem throughout your whole life. It is also like no having anything to worry about as in not having this or that.

To not be depressed means you are happy. Living your life free, enjoying things that you do, and being with people that you like. To not be depressed is to have a life which you enjoy and things that make you love living and being you.

Life has it's highs and lows but being depressed makes you appreciate the highs much more than someone who was never depressed

I have suffered depression and I have had my fair share of happy moments as well. When you are not depressed you feel positive energy around you, you have positive and constructive thoughts about making your life better. You love yourself, and the people around you. You also want to share your happiness with others and make others happy.

I knew that I no longer felt depression when I had an ability to feel pleasure. I had not realized how thoroughly depression had sucked joy from my life. For example: - Being able to laugh at funny things whereas before I would just nod and think, "Yes, this is funny." - Listening to music and wanting to dance. - Enjoying social interaction instead of skipping straight to full throttle social anxiety. I'm still nervous sometimes but it doesn't blot out all of my enjoyment. - Better orgasms. A normal sex drive. Feeling physically attracted to other people. I actually thought I had some deeply depressed homosexual urges but it turns out that depression squashed my sex drive to almost nothing.

The best way to find out what it's like to not be depressed is to find someone to help you figure out why you're depressed. Then you can experience for yourself!

To a person who has never been depressed it is normalcy, It is how it is everyday. But for a person with depression it is like seeing the world for the first time. It is like when your cold and all of a sudden you get warmed by the sun. It is an experience that is indescribable.

Calm. Honestly happy. Very less stressful. Feel optimism and other positive emotions to your core. Begin to believe in yourself. Truly believe in yourself. Declined fear and more courage.

For those who have suffered from depression, not being depressed it like a gift. It's like emerging from a tunnel and knowing you're free to do whatever you want. For those who haven't suffered from depression, it's just normal.

It is usually a lot easier , you don't tend to feel the same levels of hopelessness , emptiness or sadness etc that you feel when you have depression . It's still by no means perfect though and one will feel sad , lonely and stressed and all the other such emotions at times and there will still be daily struggles and hardships .

You feel motivated to do things, almost excited. You can always find something good about your day. I used to be really depressed, and I felt hollow and empty inside, but as I was getting over it, I noticed I began feeling happiness inside of me as an overpowering emotion, and I got excited about the smallest of things. Being happy is truly an amazing feeling, and I'm sure you'll get to feel it sooner or later, hopefully sooner.

Not being depressed.. Wow. Well really not being depressed-you feel free. Your happier. You dont feel the need to Self Harm or do anything that is Depressing. It just feels great. You feel like you arent alone in life anymore. like billy boy said there are many more aspects to your personality and you might not think it but i'm SURE there are. Look a little deeper and you will find that you are MUCH more than just anxiety and depression:)
