When you feel the trauma symptoms, if possible lay down, let go and let be that is. Don't judge what you feel, don't think about what you feel, just feel it and as you do, breathe.

It is helpful to talk to people about it, if you're not ready thats ok, you can also get some relief by drawing or writing about it. Basically every time you express it in some way you are helping to weaken the emotional reaction your body has with it, so the more ways you can find to express your traumatic experience the less it will cause tension.

Talking to someone about your experience can actually help a lot if it means getting things off of your chest. Talk to someone if you think it will make you feel better.

When dealing with traumatic situations, it is best to find release in activities that make you feel relaxed, but are not harmful to your body. If you enjoy drawing, sketch an image and you will feel better. If you like to sing, start singing the hell out of your favorite song.
