If you are concerned about your health, it sounds like you have a good idea to reach out to a healthcare provider. Doctors (of every kind) are there to provide support to their patients. While there are things that they may recommend to you, your healthcare is just that, yours! Whatever suggestions that they make are likely in your best interest according to them and their experience practicing medicine. If you are 18 years of age and you do not pose a threat to yourself or others, a healthcare provider cannot force anyone to do anything. Their job is to be there for patients and to provide them with the resources and the help that they need to improve their overall health.
